ADAM & JAMIE, THE 2 OF YOU HAVE BEEN DOING MYTH BUSTERS FOR HOW LONG NOW & YOU KNOW THAT THE VIEWERS AND FANS WILL TELL YOU THAT THE TEST THAT YOU DO IS WRONG. THEIR IS NO WAY THAT THE TWO OF YOU CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT CHANGING THE FACES ON THE TEST IS A FAIR TEST. YOU SHOULD OF DONE THE SOBER TEST ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE YOU GOT DRUNK, THAT WAY THE ODDS OF YOU REMEMBERING YOU SCORE OF EACH FACE ARE EXTREAMLY LOW. SORRY
I think they should have done it the other way around. Gotten drunk, rated the faces, then waited a week or so, then rated the same faces while sober. That way, there would be less of a chance of remembering the faces and their previous rating.
i think that the only way to truly test this myth is to test it on actual people in a bar b/c the true driving force behind beer goggles is not whether you think they are pretty but whether you would do them or not

yeah, yesterday was international CAPS LOCK day, not today.
In the beer goggles test the first and second set of photos that were being rated were of different people and the third rating was a combination of the two previous groups. What we didn't see is how individuals that were in the thrid set of photos compared to their previous scores. This would do a better job of seeing how alcohol affected judgement than just a total score.

You missed the point. They aren't rating how the change in their opinion of each individual person, they were rating how their perception of what looks good changes in general when drunk.
Ones score for how good looking one person is could change on a regular basis for no reason, whereas the scores for a 'group' of people would more likely stay roughly the same.. unless there is an outside factor like booze.
Oh and it would have been great if they did a final test the 'day after' to see if the "3-9-1" rule truly stands up.

Yep and it works both ways; a lot of people just lose the ability to 'give a damn'. The same applies for many other acts of intoxication.
I didn't see this episode but, if they didn't, I'd be interested to see the 'opposite'. Gather a group of sober people, get them intoxicated... and if you watch closely enough you may actually see them getting uglier
One option they omitted was other features. Beer Goggles cover the entire human anatomy, not just faces. Certain body types turn on people. But after drinking, standards can be lowered.
Another factor that goes along with the beer goggle myth is that by closing time the good looking women have all gone home. So instead of rating women 1-10, you are rating them against on the other women who are still in the bar.
