alaskagirlzkikazz points out correctly the refraction of light in water however she got it opposite as to which way you aim. You aim below the fish, not above the fish. I can attest to this as I sometimes get dinner by shooting delicious sheepshead fish that sometime come around my dock. You must aim below what you see when looking at the fish. While the light bends down, the arrow goes straight as would the bullet!

The shock watches were badly used.
They needed to be free floating to get an accurate reading on the water shockwave, and not clamped to the edge of the barrel.

It just mentions fish, it doesn't say anything about water or live fish. Think about it.

I personally think they were being careless... what if ( yes I'm using "what if"), the bullet ricocheted off the water and hit something reflective in their location? If that were the case, it very well could strike the cast or crew. As I recall, no one was wearing protective devices... Is anyone with me? I've personally shot at water before and unexpectantly hit things to the left or right out of water...

I don't know if anyone has posted something like this but I hope someone from the show sees this flaw. I had watched another episode where the shock wave stickers were used (the wild west "jailbreak" myth). In that episode it was explained that the red color posed little threat to humans while orange was much more dangerous and green became fatal. When shooting the fish in a barrel these stickers were used again. This showed that there was enough G force to break all three stickers. To me, that sounds like it not only would the waves kill a fish but also a human. (A human who sat in a barrel and missed being shot at.) This doesn't seem correct. My hopes are that someone sees this mistake and corrects the procedure. Thank you!

Sorry if I'm a bit late, but I just fired up my DVR and found this new episode freshly recorded.

It's only about 3 minutes into the show and I'm already shocked and disgusted.

HAHA!! Besides, if they are using dead fish, that means that someone, somewhere along the line killed the fish anyway right? So why not just let the MB's kill them...?

THEY CAN'T USE LIVE FISH? How on Earth have we gotten to the point where we can't shoot at FISH? These aren't PEOPLE. These aren't KITTENS. These aren't even MAMMALS. They're FISH. Get a little perspective and grow up already.
