The exploding lighters segment ticked me off because they only made them burst into flames or rupture, not actually explode, but I've seen a lighter explode. I've actually SEEN it, I even have the shrapnel. It happened when my dumb friend threw his lighter in a bonfire.

well almost anything you put in a bon fire will explode especialy if its a lighter and it has lighter fluid in it in that compressed plastic tube.

I liked this episode... kinda of reminded me of, me.

I am a welder and I smoke...I have a habit of carrying my lighter in my shirt pocket. I have never had a lighter explode nor get a hole in it from slag or sparks...but, thats not saying it can't happen as I have seen it happen.

Did you know that if you throw a disposable lighter down on the concrete hard enough that it will explode too?? lol. But, that doesn't mean it will always explode.

While one can control the loss of a lighter, they cannot always control the reaction of said lighter- during the loss.

I have also been a witness to a book of matches being spontaneously combusted setting on the dash of a pickup after the book of matches was in the Hot, East Texas sun all day. But, that doesn't mean it will ALWAYS happen. Smile
