I know when I snowboard I dont wear jeans. Snowpants are much more slippery than jeans, and sometimes snow and ice does does build up on the wire because the wire where I go only touches the poles and supports on the bottom. Also I dont think that you would be able to get past the other chairs or the support poles without getting stuck. If you'd try this your an idiot.

Two items that may be worth trying again
1. Some jeans use heavier materials and stronger
construction - test different jeans
and or Ski Pants
2. Open the pants zipper and place the open
zipper metal or material over the Ski Lift
cable, giving a metal or slippery material
to metal contact.

Stronger Jeans or Ski Pants with open zipper
metal or Material to Ski Lift metal cable,
could be a interesting test.

EXACTLY!!

Why would dry cotton slide on braided wires!

Flip it over and slide with the metal against metal.

ZIP with ZIPPER!!!

Using jeans and not trying any other method is just bad. I know that every one else has said the same thing, but come on! Testing a winter myth during the summer?

I watch this show every week and usually defend it, but this week I was disappointed.

That is what I was thinking during the show also. The crotch area is weaker than the leg because of seams. I'd like to see them try with the leg.

i agree with joannela they should have tried various types of lower body clothing because jeans have to much friction

Talk About It Here!
I think that no only should the myth be tested again in snowy conditions but ussually when you go snowboarding or skiing you have a snowboard or skis with you so why not try the myth using your snowboard or skis as a medium to get down the line instead of jeans, who wheres jeans to snowboard anyway

Here is the thing everyone, according to the first post from mythmod, no where does it say getting stuck on a ski lift.
it says "sliding down a rope or wire to get away from the baddies".
so maybe next time they do this myth they can try different ropes, different materials, in different scenarios.

most skiers dont wear jeans when they ski so i was surprised that grant kerri and tory didn't try snow pants.. also the jeans in this episode kept on wripping at the crotch... so why not throw the pants over the wire in a different way. why not fold the pants in half and have the doubled jeans on the wire? this would double the thickness and make the pants less lickely to wrip. also a frozen wire i think would create less friction .

frankly, I wouldn't use my jeans/snow pants at all.

I would be using my coat--it's thicker, and it doesn't have a seam down the back.

i think doing the test in the winter wouldnt matter because there would be no snow on the cable since the chairs are always moving on it so it wouldnt be much of a differance. plus whos guna take there pants off in the winter to slid down a stupid cable theyed have to take all there gear off. and you would end up runing into the chair ahead of u. so think it over!

it would be very hard to get the zipper on the wire and its covered any ways and their aint much zipper there

Yes, I agree. I think they need to try this myth in cold weather. Not sure if having the wire cold/freezing would make a difference or not.

I agree. Jeans and other denim material has very high friction. Try synthetic (and smooth) ski pants. The snow sticks to jeans, but just runs off the ski pants.
