They've change the word rescue? I'm not sure how Webster would feel about that one. Ok on a more serious note, when it comes to rescues or bringing cats back from the jaws of death, vets especially private ones should be noted.
I know that my cats have an excellent vet and even though we're moving out of the area of Scottsdale, my cats are still going to keep going to Dr. Aubrey Pruitt at Four Peaks Animal Hospital. For those that don't know who he is, he does our station's monthly cat health segment and truly cares about his animal patients. He's even able to handle Icarus who is a pretty strong and a hard to control cat when at the vet. It takes at least 3 people to handle him whereas Isis and Jade are pretty calm.
Dr. Pruitt has also saved one of my client's cats. Normally a vet would have insisted that her cat Delilah be put to sleep because the feline is diabetic and around 16 years old. When this cat had an episode and it looked like she wasn't going to make it, Dr. Pruitt brought her back. He also told my customer (I fix computers for a living if anyone was curious how the customer part fit in) that Delilah had a couple of good years left in her when most vets would've probably said to my customer "let your cat go." Recently when I visited my client to do some work on her computer, Delilah looked pretty healthy and happy even though she has to get shots regularly.
He's also done work for Citizen's For Scottsdale Strays and Benji's Buddies which a two semi-known groups in the Phoenix area. Even though some of them get paid pretty good money and have their own practices, private vets (the good ones anyway) will often do whatever it takes to heal their animal patients.

GOOD LORD CAT! Just a few words, well I can’t promise anything! I am pretty upset! WHY DO YOU HATE THEM SO MUCH?? WHY?? I give them a compliment, no wait, most everyone gives them a compliment and you feel the need to shut them down! Why? What did they do to you? God forbid you ever need their help with your family! (Cats do get out sometimes.) And you know what the sad thing is CAT, they would help you anyway! BLIND to all ignorance, they would do it because of their love of animals!! Even enough to get through one of your long"Bleep" comments! Is it that you need, to have the last word? Or did you apply and didn’t make the cut? What is it?? Stop wasting all of our time and finally say what we already know! But just in case you need to be reminded, WHY DO YOU HATE THEM SO MUCH??
Oh, and as far as the vet you named, do you feel bad for neglecting to mention all of the other wonderful, dedicated, private practice vets? Don’t they deserve to be recognized as well? If you are going to say “vets especially private ones should be noted” then don’t you have to name them all or none? That is what you keep saying about rescue groups, or does that not apply to things that you talk about, just what others do and say?

Here we go again. Why is it that every time I time I post about something that isn't about the AHS you and your followers have to twist everything around and state that I hate the AHS? Can't anyone have an opinion that differs from yours? It seems that when someone agrees with you or constantly praises the AHS, they're ok in your eyes. If their opinion differs from yours then you make them public enemy #1.
First you had a problem because I spoke in favor of the no-kill rescues and showed just how valuable of an asset they are to this community, now it's because of something different. There doesn't seem to be any winning with you.
Now your latest problem is because I mentioned one vet who I know has done a good job with my cats and you turn and twist it into something completely different. If you had even read my post you would have seen the following where I said "Ok on a more serious note, when it comes to rescues or bringing cats back from the jaws of death, vets especially private ones should be noted."
It seems now you have a problem with people giving examples and talking about their own vets now. Not everything has to be about the AHS but I guess now you have a problem that unless a vet works with the AHS, it's bad to mention them.
Don't you ever get tired of constantly trying to make me the bad guy? Flame wars solve nothing and people eventually grow tired of the fights. I've tried very hard to be the bigger person in this whole discussion and listened to every viewpoint because everyone is entitled to their opinion but I find it completely unfair that every time lately when I've stated my viewpoint, I get attacked and mislabled that I'm anti-AHS simply because I see the merit in the smaller groups being recognized or because my viewpoint is different from yours and those of your clique.

Read your own "QUOTE." That is what I am referring to! And That is what I am Still Very Upset About! I made the vet comment because I knew how you would respond! And I was right! You seem to only hear, or in this case, read what ever you want! I posted about something very near and dear to my heart, My Bella WHO is still in the hospital! and you had to make fun of my comment about changing the word RESCUE and how her secound chance came by way of an EAMT's care! The care she received before getting to the hospital has made a big difference in her ongoing recovery!! That is care that she could have only gotten here, where we have EAMTs. This has nothing to do with Vets! (my sister~in~law is a Vet! Yes, Andy's sister is a vet, and even she is amazed at some of the things the EAMTs are able to do.) Vets are great, all of the animals need them. But this wasn't about them, this was about you! and you alone! and how you have to belittle everything by way of the AHS! No one is out to get you but you! I asked you to answer a simple question and you moved your way around it just like you always do! So I will ask you again~ WHY DO YOU HATE THE EAMTS SO MUCH? I will continue to ask you this very same question with every long response you give until you answer my question. Believe me when I say there are so many people that want to know, not just me!
As far as my comment about your example: didn't you do JUST what you complain Animal Planet, the media and the AHS do? You said private vets are great, and here's an example of ONE that I had a great experience with. Isn't that what Animal Planet is doing with the show: here is an organization that is doing great things and we think you might enjoy watching them? They never say the AHS is the only organization helping animals here, just that they are the only one's with an EAMT program. It's unique and different and that is why there is a show about it. You complain that the media only focuses on one group, but isn't that what you just did? You want all of the groups to be mentioned because they also do good work, but you didn't mention all of the private practice vets who do good work. You say it gives the appearance that the AHS is the only animal welfare group here. Did you just give the impression that Dr. Pruitt is the only vet here who saves animals because he is the only one you mentioned? Of course not. I happen to think that most people would realize that Dr. Pruitt is not the only private vet in the Valley, just like they would realize that the AHS is not the only animal welfare group in the Valley. They may not know the names of all of the private vets or all of the rescue groups, but they know they are there. (If they didn't, could AAWL have been in existence for 35 years?)
I am not trying to make you public enemy #1. If you feel that way, maybe you should reread what you have posted. I am trying to point out that for some reason you always have to put down every example of good work the AHS or the EAMTs do.
I heard a rumor that there would be 15 new episodes this year, five of which were viewed last month. Has anyone heard or read when the remaining 10 episodes are due to air? Anyone with connections or inside information? *LOL*
Dear catprotector, everyone can have an oppinion. However, why do you hate the AHS?!!!!! they are wonderfull! Saving animal after animal or at least taking them out of pane! And to those people who say that the test the AHS does to dogs with the plastic hand in the food is stupid are wrong!!!!!!!!! It is inportatnt to determine if they will be okay for adoption.
Cat - As capable as you are of adding your 2 cents, you can also stop adding your own fuel to the fire if you feel you are being flamed. Just let it die. Sheesh.
Well said Blueshirt ... Tia, Animal Planet is very strange about their programming ... It probably won't be for another few months before they show the next five episodes ... And then closer to the end of the year they will show 3 new episodes and the two clip shows that look back over certain stories ... Just keep your eyes out on this website and Humane Society's site (www.azhumane.org)

Like I stated before there is no winning with you Starr. I speak out for the no-kills and mention their contributions, you label me as anti-AHS. I mention the private vets (and give an example which for the sake of that discussion was the proper thing to do because listing many private vets would take a long time) and I'm labled by yourself and others as being anti-AHS. Heck, I even talk about cats and I'm labeled as anti-AHS. Apparently, you feel that unless others share your viewpoint then they are the enemy. Get off of it and move on already! Not everyone shares your views. BTW, if I'm so anti-AHS then our station wouldn't invite the AHS to be a part of many of our live shows during cat and kitten season or even mentioned their 50th anniversary on our latest podcast. Heck, if we were so anti-AHS we probably never would've done a story about the EAMTs.
Think what you want about me people but the bottom line is this. I will continue to work to help better the lives of cats regardless of what you all think. Now it's time to move on because I'm sure some of you are probably tired of this debate by now.
