how long can this concept of fighting and the old man blowing his cool because they might not meet a deadline that we all now they are going to meet go on. come on now doesn't it seem that the producers are running out of material? because let's face it the majority of people watching the show are't watching for the choppers they are building, it's to see the drama between father and son. hey discovery we all think it's time to let this one go. it's coming to the point now where it seems totally rehearsed. here's my question why don't we ever see OCC on a biker build off competition

Not always....Especially if you're working under someone who has never done your job.

It would be nice if someone from OCC tells a truth. How much those fights are real or just editing? ANYWAY; even edited, relationship between of sr. and jr. doesn't look healthy (e.g how they talk to each other). It's not even fun anymore, feuds are so intimate nowadays.

That's true Smile but when show started, I thought that it will temporary but it has been going on ... and a bit going to bitter. But we can't know a truth, it's just between those two Smile

It would wrong to point at one reason for the dyfunction in this family because I believe there are myriad reasons. Starting with Sr's addiction problems which probably brought on the lack of respect that we watch being acted out on this show by the father toward his sons and the sons toward their father.

I am putting this on the addiction problems but I'm not sure because, thank God, I didn't grow up in a family with alcohol or drug problems. I've really never been around people who were so disrespectful of their kids or their parents before; and it amazes me. And what is really amazing is that Sr is so sensitive how his employees act toward him relative toward respecting him; i.e., Vinnie not keeping the shop clean. He told him you're not respecting me when I told you to keep the shop clean and you don't.

And that adds a whole box of worms there because he gave Vinne a job that his own son refused to do; and then started to discipline him because his son wouldn't help him keep the shop clean.

Whether scripted or not, Sr tends to initiate the fights; and most of them tend to bog down the builds rather than accelerate them. Vinnie and others have said that pretty much what you see is what happens at OCC. Perhaps it is exaggerated but these types of things must occur for him and others to say that.

Yes, Jr does disappear but he is held more accountable than Mikey. But I also think that a lot of the fights occur between Sr and Jr because neither man understands the other. Sr wants Jr to be just like him. He doesn't understand the creative dreamer inside of Jr. He doesn't understand that without that part of Jr there would not be an OCC!!! Sr doesn't understand that the creation cannot be put on a time clock!

On the other hand Jr does not comprehend what Sr is about either. Sr is the vision behind OCC. He also keeps OCC running. Jr is very short sighted when it comes to the vision or to the shop's needs. He sees the creation but not the short or long term vision. Both men need each other to succeed and there is the rub!

And then we get into how little of the company that Jr owns. Since apparently Sr didn't put any of his "fotune" into OCC to start it up, he and Jr should have been more on an equal footing from the start. Perhaps a lot of the disappearing act is a passive aggressive act on Jr's part. Who knows but they. That's just my two cents. Sherry

Even with all of the fighting between the father and the sons, I still like the show. I like the bikes they make; and I like Jr's creations. And since I like Rick and Vinnie I'm not just watching the show for the Teutels.

And I have a feeling that there are others just like me; they watch it for other people on the show too; including the Teutels.

It was the second time I had seen the rerun of the History of the OCC last night. Again I was struck by the comments Paul Jr. made about Sr. and his childhood. He seems to have a lot of "issues" with his father and how his behaviors affected his family. Maybe it's the mother in me, but my eyes weld up when he says, it takes a lot of layers of forgiveness to put things behind you with something like this.
Another lesson in how hard it is to assume what it is like to walk in someone elses shoes...

And doesn't those words right there attest to the great character and maturity that Paulie has.On one hand he could blame his life on his father but chooses to forgive.. Not that his life seems all that bad being they established OCC together but he could be dysfuncional in his own ways. Alchoholism is a disease and it needs to be seen as so.. Seniors fits have nothing to do with that it is who he is.

Just like your old man. My father was like Sr. and it was difficult to please him with my building creations but Paul is craetive and he does have a sense to be accepted by his father. Why does someone berate another human? Especially Blood. Cussed out one minute and lavished the next. A constant state of confusion. This is a great show and a common problem in the Land of the Free. Most families break apart when blood spills blood. Hostile feelings and real anger. No one can do that like family. Dysfunction is rampant and I am glad to see real life real problems many of us had. I could offer my advise but Mikey is really fooling himself. Mikey is smart. He saw Sr. yelling at Jr. and said, you must be kiddin me. I ain't doin nothin cause Dad ain't yellin at me like that. There are no perfect families out there. There is a solution. Sr. has to Man up and give Jr. his props. Can you imagine what life would be like if Jr. and Sr. walked throught the shop together collaberating on their new designs together. Jr. needs an Office and stop turning wrenches. Mikey needs to come clean with his Dad, why he won't learn the trade. American craftsmen built this country and real professional honest tradesmen have gotten sloppy with greed and or poorly trained. Pride and quality makes you or breaks you. When your loved one is gone, there gone forever. I'm glad some of the large companies have participated and made the Teutels success possible. God speed and good luck. What you sow in anger, you reap in tears.

Let's not forget that as well as having to deal with the reprecussions of his father's addiction, Paulie has also had to overcome his own addiction battle which has probably helped him understand senior a bit better than most people. Despite the arguments, there's genuine love there - they just don't put it on show too often.

And they're also smart enough to know that a lot of people tune in just to watch the fighting ... it's part of their "hook".

Its the producers and editors who are smart enough to leave the fights in, don't know how much control the Teutuls have over what is aired and what isn't
