I rode over to Montgomery today, headed north on Rock Tavern Road (past the old shop). The Local Carpenters Union Building is a little bit up that road and they had multiple saigns out front "Shame on OCC' and "Shame on Paul Teutal Sr". I'm guessing it's about who's working on their new building, anyone know for sure ?

Here's a link to the news article about the signs and the protesting. It basically sums up what's going on.

From what I heard it has to do with them using non-union workers on the building ... which is their right, isn't it?

Partly. There is both union and non-union workers on the site. Personally, I think the protesting is because the build isn't strictly union.

HA ... some people are never happy I guess. If that's the case I'd use ALL non-union labor. LOL

According to the article, the want to make sure the that the non-union members are getting paid a fair wage. Since there's a mix of both, I would reason that the union and non-union members are getting paid fairly by their experience, not if they're union or not.

Anyone not happy with the wage they're being paid can fix that by going elsewhere ... that is as long as nobody is holding a gun to their head and forcing them to work there. Big Grin

The unions want the nonunion guys to get high wages also so there is less incentive to hire non union labor.

Good plan ... that fact that so much of our production has gone overseas tells me it works well.

SR, didnt' pay Vinnie for some of his work.
I hope the Unions take over OCC and Sr. should pay a fair wage for all. union and non union.
Lets see him verbally abuse people and threaten
to "smash in their face" like he did Cody
in the last episode.

Scooterman, define a "fair wage".

Yep, have the unions take over OCC. After all, look what the unions did for the United States steel industry and our domestic auto industry. $60,000+ a year for janitors at GM plants.
