I just got a tattoo on my ankle. It's pretty big, wraps around front and back, and is about 6' tall at most areas and about a foot tall in one part—decent size. I'm wondering if I should modify my workout while I'm healing. I usually run on an elliptical for a half-hour to 45 minutes, or I walk 3-5 miles. Should I worry about swelling or sweating or just go for it?
Exercising won't hurt your tattoo. You might feel a stinging sensation because of the sweat but that's no big deal. You just don't want anything rubbing up against it until that first layer of skin comes off. Just shower at least once a day for the first 5 days. So I say go for it.
