hey I’m 19 and was thinking about getting my first tat. I have a friend who got a sleeve and it looks great, so I was thinking about getting a portrait of Rose the riveter in black/grey and white, and possibly in a pin up way instead of her classic picture as a sleeve or 1/4th sleeve. does anyone think this is a good idea, or have any others?

I think that's a great idea for a portrait/pinup style sleeve. However, wouldn't you rather get something that's truly original? I've seen that tattoo more than once..

yeah i would, it just what she stands for is what i believe in, femism and the strengh of women in a "mans world", so to speak. also to me she would symbolize the strong women in my life and be there to remind me to be strong like them. so i was kinda on the fence with this.

i would say dont get it. if your not 100% sure of what you want then dont do it..at least not right now. id say get something small as your first..so you can get the feel of how it is with your skin and etc... then maybe as your 2nd or 3rd tat get that... if you really really are sure you want it.
