i have 4 tattoos and the one on my lower back is weird because when i put my hand back there i can actually feel the tattoo with my fingers. it's like the skin is raised or something. why is that? none of my others are this way. can anyone answer that?
There are many variables to consider here. Just because your skin took ink in one area doesn't mean it did so well in others, very rare though. Did the same artist do all your previous ones? Is it a cover up? How many times has the area been inked? What were the colors used in this particular piece? It sounds like the epidermal layer might have been a little overworked thus causing scaring just between the dermal and epidermal layers of the skin and therefore causing a slight raised or puffiness of the tattoo. On the otherhand, you may be experiencing a minor reaction to either the metals used in the pigment or the carrier solution itself, which will return to normal after an undetermined period of time.
I'm just a recent member of this forum and i've noticed you've said your tattoo's are all raised, I have 12 different tattoo's all over my body and each one is like this, i know it's beause the tattoist i visit uses a rice ink which my skin reacts to. one of my tattoo's is ove 12 years old and is still this way,it's just something i have to live with. there's only one tattoo on my body which i had done abroad and they used an american ink which has never puffed up, maybe this would be better for you.
I have keloid skin as well, but I want to get a tattoo.....any advise or help. I have it on certain parts of my body...should I visit a doctor first before doing anything.
I have heard different stories from ppl who have keloid and the tattoos raise up an some who it doesnt affect.
