i'm just curious how long is normal for the irritation to last?

tattoo was done May 21/08 - it's now July 4/08 and it's quite tender to the touch. i followed the guidelines in terms of aftercare (barri-Lcare - supplied by tattoo shop).

the tat is tenderest around the perimeter of the tattoo itself. very sharp stinging sensation and still the occasional peeling as well.

i'd love to get the A&D ointment, however, it's no longer available in Canada. wondering if there is anything else i can do to ensure it heals well and looks great when the healing is done.
