I was curious of that too after just seeing the preview for the movie "Wanted"! I actually just signed up with Discovery so I could make this very same suggestion, lol!
It would be interesting to see you guys try this myth!
Here's a thought. Post this in the Mythbusters forum instead of the Miami Ink forum. I'll bet there is already a thread started about this topic over there.
hey mythbusters is it really posible to curve a bullet like on wanted and if u do put it on the show and i works try to see if u can curve it accuritlyly
you guys definitely need to do this myth! totally disappointed i wasnt the first to post this idea, but really glad other people did! this is a must-myth! p.s. thanks for visiting UF!
i write a lot of things in the mythbusters forum, and yes there is already a lot of comments and suggestions on curving a bullet. its impossible though because even if the bullet curves which can only happen if the wind blows, it will not return to its normal trajectory.
Dude they should try it! i think i have an ok theory of how to do it too.
All piston barrols are made to fit the bullet perfectly, so that wherever the gun is pointing at the time the bullet leaves the gun, thats where it goes. But if you widened the barrol a fraction of a fraction of an inch, just the tiniest bit, it would free the bullet to wobble in barrol before leaving the gun. Hence the theory that the bullet could be "bounced" into a curve.
If you think my idea has plausibility you should do it, and even if it doesn't, it will still turn out one hell of a show!
Yep..."Wanted" is a catchy movie loaded with special effects...and the curving bullet is indeed pretty awesome...but...as you may have noticed, this part of the tattoo forum relates to "inking tips"...so...unless you want to discuss Angelina Jolie's tats (either the ones she actually has, or the fake ones she had done for the movie)...you might want to try a different thread...
