I am looking for a Tattoo artist that is experienced with tattooing without a gun.

My 28 year old brother Jake has a great tattoo started, it is a memorial to my father (who passed away when Jake was 14). The tattoo hasn't been colored in.

Tuesday Jake was told that he needs to have a defibrillator implanted into his chest. Due to his condition the doctor wants to do the surgery next Tuesday.

Jake spoke with his regular Tattoo artist and explained the situation. His artist was going to drop a few appointment to fit Jake in as well as give him a great deal so that he could afford it. Jake then spoke with his doctor, who explained there is a huge risk of infection if he finishes his tattoo a few days before the surgery.

After the surgery Jake can not finish the Tattoo due to the small motor on the tattoo gun, the motor gives of frequencies that could set off the defibrillator.

Does anyone know of an artist that can work without a Tattoo gun?

Its bad enough that he has to deal with the surgery (and not drinking), I don't want him to have to regret never finishing his memorial.

Thanks

Now let me clear this up for you, as an artist I can tell you that there are a lot of tattooists who don't use guns, or even own one for that matter, maybe if they work in a bad section of town or have the kind of lifestyle where they need to protect themselves...oh wait you mean a machine? a tattoo machine, you my ignorant friend seem to have confused a weapon with a tool, comon mistake but a gun is a weapon, used to cause harm, a tattoo machine is a tool used to create, any questions?

Oh and while I am sympathetic to your brothers situation, a tattoo machine does not contain a motor, it is a simple magnetic set of coils, driven by electricity, so ther should be no reason for it to interfere with any medical devices, but then again what the hell do I know, oh wait I get it maybe one of these tattoo guns have a motor inside of them which emits harmful frequencies, these "guns" seem dangerous

Guess what there is a gun without an electric motor in the gun. One of the shows I saw a long time ago had an air gun.

The gun is powdered by an electric air compressor that is connected to an air hose a few feet away. I know they make them but I don't know if they are widely available.

I do recall the show had a tattoo contest between two artists and each one had a few hours to do a tat then when they were finished the results were judged. One of the artists used an air gun.

Mission
Mission

My goals as an artist and inventor are forever entwined. As an artist, my goal is to always improve… to always become more experienced, more technically-adept, more creative, and more visionary. As an inventor and machine maker, my mission is to make my tattoo machines the best possible solution for tattooing. In pursuit of these dual goals, I strive to always learn more about art and product design. If I’m to continue to improve as an artist, the machines I make must also be constantly improving.

My ultimate mission therefore consists of always making the best possible tattooing solutions. I believe that, with the right help, I can accomplish just what this industry needs - a little technology to give us all more freedom to create.

You can see a bit of this in our new product, the Neuma Hybrid. It is clear that we went far beyond what was expected in terms of technological development in its evolution from the n2, the original Neuma tattoo machine already loved by legions of artists. The new Hybrid goes way above and beyond the performance of the n2. The amount of engineering that went into it is impressive. I can say with confidence that some of the world’s best engineers and designers put their hearts and minds into the Hybrid’s development. There is no doubt in my mind that they will continue to help Neuma complete many more fantastic projects, because, for as long as I have the ability, I will do everything I can to continue to produce all that I can for the tattoo world.

Neuma Tattoo Machines was started by tattoo artist Carson Hill in the year 2000 when he invented the first pneumatic tattoo machine and began the patent process. In the early years, the company was secondary to his tattoo career while Carson focused on tattooing and continued to grow as an artist. Carson has used only Neuma tattoo machines for nearly his entire career.

Through the years, many Neuma2 (or n2) tattoo machines were sold, but it wasn’t until April of 2007 that Carson incorporated the company and decided to take things a step further. It was then that he enlisted the help of some amazing people who helped him create a business for Neuma and establish Neuma as the technology leader in the tattoo industry – always striving to advance the state of tattoo technology.

Neuma, its partner, and its affiliates continue to offer Neuma equipment at reasonable prices. At Neuma, we take pride in listening to your suggestions and constantly working to improve the products we offer. Now, in 2009, we are happy to bring you our new products and websites.
