I am getting ready to sit down for my 3rd tattoo and i am wanting to get it on the palm of my hand. Dose anyone have any information as far as what i should do before hand to help ensure a longer better looking tattoo? What should i do to help it heal better?

The tattoo is a copy of a shift patern for a manual transmission, as if the shifter burned the pattern onto the palm(reverse of actual image).

nothing you can do can help it mate... i did my palm twice now and faded each the time. ALOT of artists wont do palms because it needs going over so many times. the average is 7 times... once every 9 days. thats the only way it will never ever fade. the best way to do it is actually by dots instead of lines that way holds the ink longer but still needs redoing. only good thing is that it doesnt hurt at all lol

No empirical wisdom on inked palms; hairy palms are another story. The most "famous", at least to me, is Jesse James', of Monster Garage's "Pay up Sucka" on the palm of his right hand. He's had it for a few years and it still looks good. As for the way it was done and after care..I haven't a clue.
Anyway...good luck man.

The thing with palms is that the skin is so think and the layers are replaced at such a fast rate its hard to get the ink where it needs to go and healed before its pushed back out. Take the wisdom of the previous posters to heart. Its not a one sitting affair.

A tattoo anywhere on your body that is going to be subject to the elements in the manner of ie: "the palm"..is FREAKIN RETARDED.It will never heal properly because you use it more than any other body part...and even if the artist went over it numerous times like you people say up to 9 days after the first session is obsured. The skin isn't healed any less then 4-6 weeks after aplication and more tattooing of an open wound will cause more scarring in the first place.But..it's your body AND your money so do what you want but at least be aware and do your homework..or turn on your common sense switch!P.S. With the kind of $$ J.J has..you can get anything.Though it's been a long and annoying trial to get it ..oh and "maintain" it for the rest of his life.Hope you got a good paying job for this buddy!
