OK, I really want a tattoo on the top of my foot, but after doing some research i have got LOADS of contradicting arguments, some say go for it and others say stay the hell away!

I know its a difficult and painful area and at risk of bluring.
So im kinda stuck really!
Any comments?!

hey...well i just recently got a tattoo on my foot...3 days ago. It was my first tattoo...so i don't really know how other tattoos feel. But it hurt pretty bad.But i love my tattoo and i would do it all over again...i mean...i looked at it this way...it may hurt but it isn't going to kill me. And about the bluring...the person that did my tattoo told me about that even though i had researched it alot...but i decided to do it anyway. It is a big decision...good luck.

if thats the spot you want it in do it anyway. you see as many people saying it hurt as many as saying it didnt. i have both of my feet done my right side and my first side hurt so much i think it would have felt better for him to saw off my foot. but i still went and got the other side done and it didnt hurt half as bad. point is it wasent so painful that it kept me away from tats. some hurt more than others nut just breathe and youll get through you will forget in time that it hurt quite that bad and youll be ready for the next. no one can tell you how much it will hurt because every body is different.

Hey, I got a tattoo on the top of my foot about a month ago. Yes it hurt, but most tattoos do anyways. I just found it hurt because its just basically bone there. The pain is so worth it though. Granted I'm going to wait a couple of years until I get my other foot tattooed.

You're always going to have contradicting arguments for anything, thats why its better to go with your own decision. You're the one that's gonna have to live with your decision.

hey I just got a tattoo on my left foot today and I'm not gonna lie it hurt!!I agree with cgrl that they could have sawed off my foot and it would have felt better than getting tattooed. But I also love the way it looks.. think of it this way if you really want it there than go for it your only talking a couple hours of pain for something you will probably love.

I had one done in April on the top of my right foot...there is a picture in the photo section of my dragon.

It hurt like, well I can't say it here! It is the healing that is important and I would wait for the fall weather or colder weather, when you wear socks and shoes. I did some colour in May to the foot and it did not heal well but the dragon itself healed great and for me drying it out was the best. Of course, listen to your artist and they will let you know the best way to have it heal.

Whatever you do...have fun...just go with a friend so you can squeeze the heck out of their hand...lol!

make sure if you need a friend there to squeeze their hand that you find a shop where you can do that. The place I got mine done would not let my husband or anyone in the room because they wanted to keep it sterile

I HAVE ONE ON THE TOP OF MY FOOT NO PROBLEMS,BUT IT WAS THE MOST PAINFULL NEXT TO UNDERARMS!HOWEVER...YOU'LL LIVE!

I got one also on my foot and didn't think it was bad at all. To me it was no worse then any of my others.

It hurt so bad I had both done in one sitting. Seriously, the bones weren't the problem but the nerves between the toes caught my attention. They are absolutely beautiful and I would do it all over again.
Just a few tips: air dry about ten minuets after showering before adding ointment, wear your Cotton socks inside-out until they heal, and feet take 2-3 times longer to heal.

The pain is only temporary but the tattoo will last forever

Make sure to keep very good care of it if you get it, because feet get infected very easy, because they are so low to the dirtyy ground. And make sure people dont step on it. I have seen some good foot tattoos go bad in the healing process from people stepping on them.

Hey everyone- I am considering getting a tattoo on my heel (like the side of my foot) and am wondering about it. I know sometimes they turn people away on the show who want tattoos on their feet...??

hey, I just got my first tattoo yesterday and it was on the top of my right foot. It did hurt, but I didn't find it excruciating and I didn't have to ask him to stop at all. I actually thought that it felt cool at one point because I could feel my bones vibrating when he went over top of them.

Its still a little sore, but I'm hoping that's normal since I only got it yesterday. But other than that I'd say the pain was so worth it in the end.

great topic! I really want to get a tattoo of a water lily with the peddals overlapping my great grandma's name inside it. I am thinking of getting it done on the inner bottom of my right foot (where the bone is). Just something small and cute and its going to be my first one. I got this idea from one of the Miami Ink episodes when a girl got a tattoo there in the memory of her grandfather. I wanna get it done in the summer and wondering if any one of you had done it in that spot and what should I expect.

Got one on the top of my left foot and part of it is on top of my forth toe. Before the artist started I knew it would hurt after all a shot hurts and that is just one needle prick not several thousand. Then a friend of theirs walked over and looked at the print on my foot and said "You must have a pretty big set to get your first tat on the top of your foot." and "Oh it runs down one toe!". My husband said my eyes got as big as half dollars and he thought I would not go through with it or choose somewhere else. I got it, two inches long and wide and took about 15 minutes with the finest needle they had for the outline. Yes it hurt and I plan to get another on the other foot. No one feels pain the same way as someone else and what hurts some a little might hurt you a lot, so expect a lot of pain and pray for less.

Well.... Thanks so much for all the comments and advice! I have 2 tattoos now but i didnt have one on my foot lol,
The second one hurt quite a lot, its on the front of my shoulder in between my arm and my chest. I love them both but still want the foot tattoo, i may do it lol or i may wait a while because the second one did hurt a lot lol
