I have an eight inch narrow scar on my lower back and 2 on each ankle. I have decided that I want something nicer to look at there and want to get all of them covered with tattoos. I want to start with the one on my back. So the question is, can you tattoo over a scar and will it still look good?
Yes you can cover scar tissue and it will look good . But depending on the size and texture of the scar . If the scars are raised up you will still see the scar . But if they are flat it should be fine . It also will be tender in the scar tissue .
Cool, thanks for the info! My scars are flat, and lucky me, I have no feeling on them! I guess nerves were damaged during surgery. I guess I should hurry up and get my tat before feeling comes back! (If Ever!)
I have burn scars that cover over 15% of body. I have taken the liberty of tatooing myself after observing another artist manipulate the scar tissue. I find that the scar may actually enhance the appearance of a particular type of tattoo as long as the texture is properly incorporated into the tattoo. This pertains to larger areas that are not as smooth and elastic as my original skin.(scars have a tendency to be pretty tight in some areas!)
