I want to celebrate Natividad. He was just a poor street dog fighting for his everyday life in the streets of Managua...Then a sadist man calling himself an artist took him for an art presentation. It was a sordid piece of art: he just took Natividad, roped him in a wall inside the exposition and let it die without food or water in front of everyone. It took two days for Natividad to die. No one helped him, as much as he begged for help. Because all dogs trust humans he must have begged to every art lover that passed in front of him... But no one helped. The dog died in front everyone and no one had the courage for stoping it. What is more, the sadist was agraciated with a prize in the exposition. And now he has been invited to show his art again at the Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008, in november. Another dog is going to die for the sake of art... The sadist's name is Guillermo Habacuc Vargas. There is a petition to stop it around the world but he already has said that he disregard the petition and that he will do it again, no matter what. WHY NO ONE IS RAISING A VOICE AGAINST THIS ANOUNCED ATROCITY? IS IT BECAUSE BEING ONLY A CENTRAL AMERICAN DOG IT DOESN'T DESERVE HELP????
Are we supposed not to talk about the evil deeds?...or those things that happens in the third world do not deserve attention? He was just a street dog in Managua, but I miss him as if he was mine. He didn't deserve such a cruel death. And I think the next dog that are going do die in Honduras doesn't deserve it too..
where were you? it sounds like you saw this happening or atleast knew about it yet the dog died. as much as people complain about things going on they dont do anything they expect other people to do it. my advice do something about it not some petition that more then likely wont help at all. remember what is good and what is evil is all in one's perception.

Most importantly, are we not animal? We are human and animal and this is absurd. Someone can't come up to you and tie you up with a rope and starve you to death. Also, how dare they (whoever is in charge of this) let him kill again!! And why is he not under arrest? Do people kill you and call it art not a crime? No way. Whoever did it to you would be arrested! UGH, I JUST HATE INSENSITIVE PEOPLE LIKE WHATEVER HIS SILLY, STUPID, HARD-TO-PRONOUNCE NAME IS! Unfortunately I live thousands of miles away, in Brazil. I only heard about this case and was moved thinking about the suffering this dog passed with no help from any human being that passed by him… What upset me most was to think about all those people going by the dog and not daring to do anything because it was an art display…and in some way art is protected by kind of shield that even science (thanks God) has not any more. There should be a world wide campaign on ethics in art…a campaign that could stop this atrocity and make its supporters to think twice before allowing it to happen again. For instance, the Managua Jury that gave a prize to the sadist: Ana Sokoloff (Colombia), Oliver Debroise (Mexico) y Rodolfo Kronfle Chambers (Ecuador). At this moment some of them are in USA: Ana Sokoloff, for instance, after saying Habacuc presented a "very interesting piece of art", is in New York as head of Latin American Art at Christie's. Rodolfo Kronfle is a well known art dealer that passes most of his time in NY and Europe... Could we not think together off something to stop this atrocity and other ones that happen all the time in the name of art. I think we should have a strong world wide campaign demanding for ethics in art.
I just understand people like that, to just watch an animal die and do nothing!!! People that do these things make me really mad!!! I think the best thing to do would be to contact the Humane Society and let them handle it.
The problem is WHERE do you contact them at??? Would you contact them in the Country that it is happening??? I do not know!!!

I don't think this should happen again. We should tie the artist to a rope and let him starve to death! It is just art work after all, right???? sorry , i can't help being angry. This man is a sadist and should be sent somewhere worse than prison.
