Today, me and my family will be taking my 15 1/2 yr old dog Kissy Face to the vet to be put to sleep. This decision is so hard to make as an owner. We keep thinking are we making the right choice for her. I mean she is almost totally blind and has recently developed sores on her front two legs. However, I don't know what life is gonna be like without her, and getting over her lost. Frown

So sorry to hear you had to put your dog to sleep, animal-lover007. It's a tough decision to make. I remember Mom having to put one of her cats to sleep because he had cancer. It was one of the hardest decisions Mom ever made. She came home from the vets crying histerically and chunking his food, toys, and bowls in the trash. She was really distraught over his loss.
And a few weeks ago, my dog Katie got run over by a car and died on the way to the vets. It was really hard for me cause I blamed myself for not watching her. Then I was thinking to myself that later on I was gonna give her away to someone on a farm cause she was so rambunxious. I think the lord took Katie for a reason. But in the end at least Katie didn't suffer for long. Now we have another pup named Abby who is the most adorable creature I have ever owned. I bring her to my workplace and everyone just loves her. Smile She doesn't replace Katie by any means, but she does fill the hole that was in my heart when she died.

I remember when my uncles dog teddy had to be put down. I cried for hours. He had cancer and was in a lot of pain, so i guess it was for the best. That was 5 years ago and i still miss him.

When I had to take my Beardsley kitty to be put to sleep, it was so very very hard. But he had kidney failure and there was no hope. So I just held him, and told him I was so sorry and that I loved him so much! (Crying now) He was so very sweet and I miss him still!

My Buster kitty just got real sick all of a sudden...I rushed him to the Vet. and she tried to save him but he just died....that was 1 year before my Beardsley.

This is in Memory of Buster & Beardsley....
I love you & miss you babies!

Poem For Cats

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.

My dog died two weeks ago from cancer and it was terrible. I'm still getting over it but I know it was right. He was going to be put to sleep at home the next day but he was breathing hard so we had to do it that day.
