I am sending a donation to Wildlife Warriors, pick up trash when I see it, help animals and will not throw away an aluminum cans anymore. I am committed to helping in small ways everyday.
If we all just do a little. Here is what I can remember of a Helen Keller quote. "I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And just because I cannot do everything, it will not keep me from doing the one thing I can do."
Spoken like a true Tennessee volunteer. I am not a chatroom person. I use to watch Steve all the time but, as I have aged and gone on over the years I have not watched him so much. The news upset me but not severly until I watched Robert Irwin. I did not understand what a loss this is. I do now. I have been so upset his words ring in my head. "Greive for the animals have lost their best friend." Thank God for people like Steve and all his supporters. I know you will keep him alive.
Amen again! I live with 15 cats, some of them I have resuced from traps that a neighbor set to catch and kill them. I've let opossums, groundhogs, and even a skunk out of that trap. Some of the cats were homeless that trusted me enough to come in to live here and to be spade or neutered. Others I took in from people who didn't want them. Although I am an RN, many people tell me I ought to be a vet because of my love for non-humans. I even save spiders and bugs and such at work and here at home. People know to call me when there is a spider or other bug and that I will catch it and take it back outside. I tell them, "you are hundreds of times larger than this little being and it has a right to life just as you do." I've also created a backyard habitat for the rabbits, squirrels, and birds. Yes, I recycle, too, and pick up trash. I plant trees. I recently attended an event where there is a singer named Jana Stanfield who has a song that is similar to the Helen Keller quote: "I cannot do all the good that the world needs, but the world needs all the good that I can do." Thank-you to everyone who does all the good that they can do. Together we all make a huge positive difference. Arlene in Berwick, Pennsylvania, USA
I plan on volunteering at my zoo, plan on adopting an animal from my zoo, donating to WW and hope to do much more! Steve was my hero, and there's this constant hole in my heart where he had a spot there, its gone...I'm so sad and heartbroken still....dont know that it will ever go away. I pray to God for Terri and the family every day for him to take care of them in their grief.
I just donated 10 dollars to the Steve Irwin fund thanks to this post. It was simple and quick. I hope many others who have recently joined this site due to Steve's death can also contribute. Even just a dollar. Let's keep his memory alive!
hey gritster, I hear ya! Now im crying again almost; its amazing how few words can make a difference? "grieve for the animals who lost their best friend"; powerful! it really hits the heart!
