...my dad and I would have loved to be there personally, but at least we could be there in spirit. We were so proud of Bindi for standing up there and reading that note about helping her daddy...Steve had to be smiling down at her!
I don't care what certain critics out there are saying; Irwin was a beautiful human being who loved both people and the animals he worked with. You can see many of the animals sensed the love he felt, too. The public isn't stupid and it isn't blind.
The world needs more people like Steve, and the love shown for him and his family tonight is a positive affirmation of the goodness in humankind.
I would like to also say my profound THANKS to Animal Planet/Discovery for airing the service. Also, deepest THANKS to the Irwin family for allowing it to be shared around the world. I was deeply moved watching the service and hearing the emotion of all who spoke. I was especially moved when hearing Wes and Bindi speak. The most beautiful, powerful moment for me was when they brought out the animals to share in the service and when his truck was packed up and driven away for it's "final voyage". WOW!! That service was just beautiful. How lucky are his family for knowing him and having his love. One can only hope to know someone like him in their lifetime, but then again, there will only ever be 1 Steve Irwin. I share in many of your thoughts to someday visit the Austrailian Zoo and hopefully meet some of these people who inspire me like noone has. ANIMAL PLANET/DISCOVERY... THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING YOUR VIEWERS TO SHARE THE BEAUTY OF STEVE'S SERVICE. It will take some time to stop thinking about it all the time. Thank you!! Marsha from Pennsylvania
I want to add my thanks to the others. I was so glad we got to share in Steve's memorial. (It was touching to see Wes, John and of course Bindi and know that they are coping with the huge loss.) Terri my prayers to all of you.
Im also grateful to Animal Planet for showing all the episodes for the past 2 weeks. It has really helped my family to celebrate his life while we are so sad about his death.
I hope the Croc Hunter and Croc Diaries continues to be a regular program on AP so the next generation can learn and absorb Steve's lesson. In a world when there are so few men in the public eye for children (and adults) to make heroes, Steve was at the top.
Thanks again Animal Planet for your programming on Steve. It was really appreciated.
