I could not sleep last night. I alwasys though of him as invincible, pictured him as always in control of the situation. I can not believe this has happend.

I admire him. He is amazing and I am truly sorry to his family. You are in my prayers. I can not even explain how I felt when I heard this news, following his show ever since I was small.

I will truly miss him and I am in shock.... I don't know how to even express how I feel right now. I never knew him and it still feels like words are not eough.

To Terri, Bindi, Bob, and all of the Irwin Family, including friends and colleagues, we give our deepest condolences to you. I never was able to personally meet Steve, but I felt like he was family or a close friend. He has touched the lives of thousands, and his passing has saddened the world.

Steve has done more than imagineable for the world and all of its creatures man and animal alike. He has been the greatest teacher to all of us. He will always be remembered for the wonderful, lively, inspirational man that he was. We will never forget him and his memory will always live on.

The wolrd has truly lost one of it's greatest people.

When my son was in the third grade we were going through some hard times with him. I started watching your programm with him due to his love of animals hoping he would open up to me. He started talking to me about the animals he was watching, and before long we were talking about other important things to him as well. Your show really opened up a dialouge with my son and now we very rarely miss it. My son and I were both very shocked and saddened at Mr Irwins death. I just wanted the Irwin family to know how much of a impact they made on a childs life in Albuquerque, NM and that he will greatly be missed. To his wife and children, and family please know you are in our prayers and I personally thank you for sharing such a wonderful man to the world. Respectfully yours, M.Erdman

Our family was so shocked to hear of Steve's passing. We had just come home from a family trip, when we got the call that Steve had Died. We opened the newspaper and got some information. We had to go to bed that night, not knowing very much of anything.

That morning, my youngest son and I watched the news, in shock. We were crying.
My 11 year old son than said, " Well mom, at least he died doing what he loved".

What a profound statement. Steve was the best at what he did, and he will be so missed by our family.

I hope that eventually Terri, will be able to carry on Steve's missions of conservation, and we will be able to see her on tv.

My deepest regrets go to Terri, Bindi, Bob and all of Steve's family during this tragic time.

With much Love

Dear Terri, family and friend.

It was with profound shock when we learned of Steve's untimely passing. As a family, nation and world, we mourn the loss of wildlife's biggest spokesman.

Having grown up with "Wild Kingdom," I found a love of nature than endures to this day. Years ago our family became hooked on "Crocodile Hunter" and couldn't miss an episode. It taught us so many things about the world we didn't know but more importantly, it provided a program that brought our family together without the usual 'junk' TV represents today.

Like my youth with "Wild Kingdom," my boy's (now teenagers) found a love for animals and the great outdoors and a desire to learn. So much of that desire we owe to Steve and his programs.

A larger blessing than we ever thought possible is that from all the years Steve did television programs, his wonderful children will forever be able to watch their dad doing what he loved and his memory will never fade.

May God bless you and may you find peace and solice during this terrible time. I have no doubt all that Steve started in his career will be seen to fruition by the wonderful associates who's dream is conservation and education.

My daughter and I would like to say how sorry we are about the loss of Steve, but there really aren't any words that express just how great that loss is to his family, friends and the world. He came into so many lives for so long and became just like one of the family even though you never met. He taught the world so much through his program he was like the much loved teacher from our school days who made learning fun. And you did learn, you couldn't watch his show and not come away without learning something new and exciting about the animals that he loved. So I'd like to tell Terri and the childeren how sorry we are and what a great loss we all feel. And Steve you will be greatly missed

Steve Irwin is an invincible Wildlife Warrior. “Is” is used in the present tense because even in Steve’s physical passing his spirit, passion, legacy, cause, and life’s work lives on. He was the first Wildlife Conservationist that exuded such an intense enthusiasm and passion for what he did. He made it his ambition to not only save, protect, and serve the wildlife he encountered; he also made it his life’s ambition to invite every single one of us to the show and try to fill us with the same enthusiasm and passion for the cause of conservation. He was as captivating and intriguing as the species he would handle and educate us about. It was always clear that he had a way with animals that could only be explained as “a gift”. Steve himself was a gift in so many ways as well.

Though Steve’s death came as a shock to many of us, it was almost as if it was less agonizing to accept because as many of us have concluded…he died doing what he loved to do. Though it is tragic and extremely sad to have to say good bye to the man Steve Irwin, the legend of Steve Irwin will live on forever. It is his legacy and his legend that take him beyond being just invincible to becoming invincibly immortal.

Steve’s work is not finished: he has just moved on to do it from a much more powerful level. This not only applies to the Wildlife Warrior side of Steve, but also his work and dedication as a husband, father, son, and best-mate. There is no doubt that Terri, Bindi, and Bob know that Steve loves them and is there for them in every moment of each and every day of their lives. His Father and Best-Mates most likely feel the same way. Steve never left a doubt in their minds about how much he loved and cared for them all and all of us tuning in from home witnessed it too. The animals of Australia Zoo will feel the loss and impact of Steve’s departure, but, more importantly they will also feel and experience his legacy as it is carried on by every single care taker and family member there.

Steve Irwin’s legacy is not only wildlife conservation, but more importantly – the call for passion and enthusiasm in conserving wildlife. He took us all right there into the action with every chance he had to make sure we all got the message, to make sure we were all paying attention – these animals are creatures of beauty and they need our help in order to survive. It was a call to arms…a call to fight for those that cannot fight for themselves, a call to us all to wake up and take action and make a difference, a call for more Wildlife Warriors to join the fight, a call for heroes.

Steve Irwin is a hero – he has made a huge impact in the world of wildlife conservation and his contribution will live on forever through every life he touched whether it was human or animal; the bottom line is he touched us all in ways that will always be incomparable and in ways that will never be forgotten. May he live on forever as the legendary Steve Irwin “Crocodile Hunter” and Wildlife Warrior Hero.

Terri, Bindi, Bob & all family and friends of Steve...May peace & healing come on swift wings to you all. With love and light you are in our prayers.

Our family wishes to extend our condolences to the Irwin family during their time of extreme grief and sorrow. We are so very sorry for the loss of Steve Irwin. Our hearts are broken and we cry and mourn along with you. Steve has been a household name here and he has been such an inspiration and encouragement to our grandchildren. To the point that our eldest grandson, Damian, who is now 9 year old, has decided he wants to be a paleatologist. He has been watching The Crocodile Hunter since he was 4 years old and has been greatly intrigued with all animal life and preserving it for the generations to come. The messages conveyed by Steve Irwin concerning the conservation of all species of our most precious wildlife has not fallen on deaf ears here! We will never forget all of the enthusiasm Mr. Irwin exuded and the immense pleasure he has brought to us over the years. We were so looking forward to Bindi's program. She is a born natural as was her father, plus our grandson of 5 yrs old has fallen in lover with her. We get quite a laugh out of that. Hopefully in the future she will be able to continue.

May God be with you to console you and give you the strength you need to continue to bring our world the much needed information that is so important to us all. I know it will be hard for you, but it is our hope that you can stand up tall, continue on with the programs just as we believe that Steve would have wanted you to do. And we are certain that when you feel down and sorrowful, you will be able to call on Steve from above and he will be there to lift you up.

Your family has been a part of this family for a long time and we all feel the loss very deeply. We want to thank you for sharing your very lives with us. You are truly the best parents we have had the privilege of being acquainted with and you have two very lovely children. We will keep you in our prayers always, asking our Lord to bring peace and joy to your family again. God Bless you each and every one! Everyone in our church family is praying for you.
Sincerely,
Police Chief Leonard & Billie Slamcik & the Lawrence Lassetter Family from the state of Texas.

It is with great sadness that I write this. It may seem odd to feel so strongly about the death of someone I never knew, and a celebrity at that, but now I realize that some people can touch your life without ever really being involved in it. I also now understand how some people felt about the passing of Elvis or Princess Diana.

I never particularly thought of Steve Irwin as a hero of mine. At first, he was that "Crazy Aussie" that seemed to be super human in his ability to narrowly avoid death or injury while dealing with some of the worlds deadliest animals. He was a "cheery bloke" with an infectious enthusiasm for life and for ALL of God's creatures no matter how ugly or dangerous they may seem. As the years passed, my family watched his family grow and an unwitting bond was developed. We could always count on Steve to entertain us thoroughly while teaching us important lessons about respect for all animals, respect for the environment, and to live your life like you were taking your last breath. In an age where television continues to push the boundaries of good taste, we could look to Steve, Terri, Bindi, and Bob to give us wholesome, informative, family entertainment. Additionally, Steve became the "face of Australia" to America and what a warm, friendly, and exuberant face it was. He only served to strengthen the bonds between our two nations and made us feel like distant, but very welcome, cousins.

Steve's influence on our lives can be weighed in the creatures that our family has chosen to accommodate over the years. Anoles, skinks, frogs, toads, a praying mantis, and our current favorite, a black rat snake have all been humanely captured, admired, and cared for in a way that would have made Steve proud. I don't know if there is any discussion of whether or not to continue to air reruns of his show now that he is gone, but I hope that after a solemn period of grief that a decision is made to continue to air it. Like many great people in other facets of life, he will probably be appreciated even more now that he is gone. Though a stranger, he felt like family and he will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to his beautiful family at this sad and tragic time. G'day, Steve...and thanks.

I was so upset to hear about the passing of Mr. Steve Irwin. It was almost as though I had lost someone from my own family. He has brought me much joy with his passion and enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation. It is such a shame to lose such a good, wholesome man. He was so passionate about his work and his family, and there are far too few people like him in our world today. My prayers go out to the friends and family of Steve Irwin. God bless.

Terri, Bindi, and Bob,
I can not even imagine the tremendous grief you are feeling over the loss of your beloved husband/father. You must be so very proud of the life that he led and all the amazing things that he was able to accomplish in his much too short life. He was truly an inspiration and hero to so many but most importantly to you. His legacy will indeed live on through his children and grandchildren as they continue to spread his message for many years to come. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

I started watching Steve when he still had long hair. "What a great zest for life he has", I often thought of him. I loved his love for animals, not just the cute fuzzy ones, but all animals. I cried when he lost his mother to a car accident. I cried when he had to say goodbye to his faithful dog who traveled with him everywhere, And I am crying now while I type this post. I will miss him and his exuberance for the things he believed in. My thoughts are with his family and friends, for they will miss him the most. Good bye Steve. You gave so much to all of us!

...And after the grief passes for those of us who loved him and everyone begins to heal, we will realize that this wild man who had as huge a passion for life as one can have...just couldn't die any other way. He wasn't thrown, he didn't fall, he wasn't eaten, he didn't drown, he wasn't poisoned, he wasn't lost - he was stabbed in the heart…by one he loved. With the odds so high that a stingray attack would result in death...the metaphor of how this could happen to him will launch his legend into the realm of mythology. I can hear the bards writing their songs of him now...

Sleep Sweet, Steve. Rest and Renew. I know you weren't ready to go...but Brother, you lived three lifetimes in the time you where here. You will be missed and remembered.

Terri, Bindi, and Bob – and all who loved him, I know that Steve becoming a legend is no consolation for you. Just know that you are not alone. Many hearts break with yours.

Sincerely,

I would like to express my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Irwin family and all of Mr. Steve Irwin's family and friends. I, like millions of other people, have never had the pleasure of meeting Steve Irwin, yet despite that simple fact, I felt that he was a friend, a teacher and a top-notch example of what I aspire to be, and of what it means to be a passionate, intense, and wonderfully beautiful human being.

My boyfriend and I, both avid fans and supporters, both conservation-minded, animal lovers and science-minded individuals have loved being a part of this fabulous, incredible, and dedicated family of Australians and firmly believe that Steve and his cause are the strongest, most incredible and enthusiasic force throughout the entire world.

The two of us would say that Steve has most certainly taught us so much about what conservation really means. He has single-handedly (though with the help of his family and friends) changed the two of us for the better - helping us to be more aware, more conservation-conscious individuals who have such respect, passion and love for all the creatures we share the world with.

Since we are both teachers, we have vowed to spread the message of respect, awe and admiration as well as conservation. This is all due to Steve Irwin.

I have never been effected by anyone quite the way I have been effected by Steve Irwin. I have been a fan since day one and know every episode, every TV moment, every everything he's shared with us over the years. I have always, ALWAYS loved his infectious passion, his incredible enthusiasm and he deep respect and awe for all the amazing animals of the world.

There is no way that this sudden loss won't be felt world-wide. With the saddness I feel, I also promise to feel hope for his cause, and for the world, as well as grateful for all the lessons he's taught me, all the laughs I've shared and all the wonderful thoughts and moments I was able to experience.

When we get married, my boyfriend and I will be going to Australia. And we still maintain that we will visit the zoo, continue to support the message and remember to live the way Steve and his family have set the example for.

I will continue to be inspired by Steve, to feel his infectious spirit and to never forget to remember all the things worth standing up for, all the things Steve taught me - and to do it "flat out like a lizard, drinkin'."

I was so sorry to hear of Steve Irwins death. I have had a hard time stopping the tears. My kids always wanted to meet them and now will never have the chance. To Terri and her precious family....I wish that there was something that we could do for you in this terrible time. But I know that nothing will ever help except time....so from one former Oregonian to another I say do what you need to even if it is smashing every dish in the place. I know you are concerned for your children but please remember to take care of yourself too. Your wonderful husband will be missed by the entire world. With all our love and support.

I read the news today on the way to my office and am deeply shocked. I have watched each and every one of the series with my family on Discovery and we are all big fans of the "Croc Hunter". His untimely end is a great loss to animal conservationists worldwide. Like us, there are millions of Indians who used to tune in to watch his show. Our hearts go out to the family he has left behind.

May god give Terri, Bindi and Bob the strength and courage to bear this loss.
