Steve Irwin was a true man of the wild. His exuberance and passion for the protection and preservation of all species, and his ability to teach and reach people of all ages will be greatly missed by everyone. My heart goes out to his wife Terri, daughter Bindi, and son Bob, as well as to his other family members, the Australia Zoo staff and all of his friends. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers every day, and I know that Steve is watching over all of you. May the Great Spirit bless and watch over all of you for all of your days.

I don't know that Terri or the children will ever read this but I just want to say a few things anyway. I first saw him while a Senior in college and have been a HUGE fan ever since.

As a grown man I can say I have only cried a handful of times in my lige. Upon hearing the news I was so saddened I sat down in my living room and fought back tears successfully. Later in the evening after watching a special for Steve on Discovery I could fight them back no more. God Bless Steve and Terri Irwin. And Terri, if you do read this, just know that Steve touched and inspired a soul in Austin, Texas. He will be missed in my house.

Regards,

To the Steve Irwin Family and Friends,

The tragic loss of Steve has been felt around the world. Our family has been huge fans of the Croc Hunter and Crock Files for years. My children have grown up with Steve on TV and cried so very hard when learning of his passing. Please know that Steve was blessed with the ability to teach and make learning fun. We are all very fortunate to have been able to learn so much from him for so long. His work will never be forgotten and he will be remembered forever.

Our condolences to Terri, Bindi and Bob as well as all of the many friends that Steve has so suddenly left behind. My God bless you and comfort you in this time of sadness and great loss. As you mourn, the world mourns with you.

Our deepest sympathy to Steve's Family and Friends.
Steve was a great educator, really talented in his field of work. I've watched many wildlife programs the last 35 years and Steve Erwin had the best show. My 4 year old son and I learned alot from watching his shows.
We will miss him, The James Family.

Steve has had a major affect on people in the USA and beyond. When I first saw The Croc Hunter on TV I became addicted to the show and of course the Croc files was another one that I loved. He was an inspiration amoung many people and a legend as I see him in my eyes. Since the start of the show along time ago I realized I can never show history to the public like Steve did but I decided in m own way to follow what Steve said follow your passions. I currently run a website of submitted pictures called www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com that has abandoned buildings in it. But my main cause for it is it is history of the past like a croc it has survived years of human abuse. Sad but true I had a vacation setup well was in the making to go to australia zoo but not sure if it will be the same. I belive wes his main bub will do well helping out at the zoo as well as all the caring staff. I wish everyone well I have been a fan for years and Steve has tought me to go for what I believe in and so I have to keep people informed of our past and always remember it.

RIP Steve you leave behind alot of people who miss you. And to the whole team at Australia Zoo please keep Steves work up because you placed Australia on the map.

Steve Irwin's optimism and unbridled enthusiasm for wildlife will be sorely missed by millions, but of course most of all by his family, to whom I wish to express my condolences, as well as many thanks for their devotion, along with Steve's, to a future that nourishes and celebrates our planet's wildlife. The thoughts of the world are with you now through this difficult time.

Dear Terri, Kids, and all Steve's family and friends,
My family and I have loved Steve and Terri since the show started and we were heartbroken to hear of his death. There aren't enough words to express our deepest sorrows over his passing. My 12 yr old son cried all day when he heard. A good frind sent this poem and I think steve may not have said it like this but if he was saying it you would understand.
If tomarrow starts without me

If tomarrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
all filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today
while thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me
as much as I love you
and each time that you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.

But when tomarrow starts without me
please try to understand
that an angel came and called my name
and took me by the hand.

And said my place was ready
in heaven far above
and that I'd have to leave behind
all those I dearly love.

But as I turn to walk away
a tear fell from my eye
for all my life I'd always thought
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for
so much left yet to do
it seems almost impossible
that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays
the good ones and the bad
I thought of all that we shared
and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday
just even for awhile
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized
that this could never be
for emptiness and memories
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss some tomarrow
I thought of you and when I did
my heart filled with sorrow.

But when I walk through heavens gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me
from his great golden thrown.

He said," this is eternity
and all I've promised you
today your life on earth is past
but here life starts anew."

I promise no tomarrow
But today will always last
and since each day is the same way
there's no longing for the past.

So when tomarrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for everytime you think of me.
I'm right here in your heart.

Terri he's with God now watching over you and Bindi, and Bob. He did such great things down here think what he can do with God. I pray some day since your home town isnt far from mine that I can meet you and tell you from my heart how you and your family feel like a part of ours. Since every night your in my home with our family. God bless you and your young ones.

As I heard the news the only thing I could think of was how obvious it was that Steve loved every part of life, from the glory, to the pain, and everything in between. His love for the earth, animals and people were I think the things that made everyone love him too. The world is definetly a better place for him having been here, and although he will always be missed he will never be gone.
My thoughts are with you all.

I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Terri, Bindi, and little Bob. Steve was truely an inspirational man. I grew up watching "The Crocodile Hunter" and the minute I saw Steve's enthusiasm for all living creatures, I knew I wanted to be just like him. He played a huge part in my decision to go into pre zoo-veterinary medicine, and his amazing leaps and bounds in the animal conservation world inspired me to set my own goals to help. It was one of my truest and dearest wishes to someday see the Australia Zoo, and possibly intern under the man who inspired me to do so much, and helped so many people to see the beauty in animals and mother nature. I am so very sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you. Remember how lucky you are to have shared the years you did with the world's most passionate animal lover.

This poem brings me a sense of peace when I think of my loved one's passing. I only hope it can do the same for you.

"I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and the sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says: "There, she's gone."
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living weight to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her, and just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she's gone," there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes."

We will miss you Steve! But we will also remember all the wonderful good you did for the world. Your quest for knowledge of the wild and your unbelievable joy of attaining it should be an example for all. My sons will greatly miss your joyful smile, but I thank you for giving them many smiles along the way...

Terri

I just don't know the words to say to you about losing such a wonderful man like Steve. I loved the Croc Hunter show. It is my favorite show on Animal Planet, and I'd watch every chance I got. I have followed your story from the time that you and Steve met and had Bindi and baby Robert. My heart goes out to you and your beautiful children. I know what it is to lose a loved one. But it will never be the same without Steve. I will miss him very much, seeing him on Animal Planet, with you and the kids.

God be with you. I am sorry I don't have any other words of comfort for you. But you and the children will be in my prayers. I hope you can find the strength to go on and take care of both of your wonderful children. Perhaps someday I can go to Australia and visit the zoo. I know your family and the extended family of the Australia Zoo will be there for you.

With Deepest Condolences

My deepest sympathy goes out to Terri, Bindi, and Bob. I have not met Steve personally, but i feel like he was a friend.I really enjoyed watching him, just to see what Steve would be up to next. Steve had this personality that every one could love. I pray for your family in this dark time, and I pray that you guys can pull through this in time.
I learned so much from watching Steve, about animals from your country and animals from many other places as well. One of my favorite things to hear him say would be, "Danger, danger, Danger" or "isn't she a beauty mate". These are the memories that will linger in my mind forever. Being able to see that energetic Steve, running around so fearless, and pounching on crocs. This is the Steve I want to remember.
When I first saw the news I was in shock.I kept searching and searching telling myself, say it isn't so. Steve seemed to be a great man, that died extremly too early. The world has surely lost a true a priceless jewel.
Terri, you have a big job ahead of you. You have to be strong now,for yourself and those beautiful kids. Look to your God and your kids, as your strength. Always rememer whatever you do Steve is always with you.
Although he may be gone, he is never forgotten. May God forever bless you and your family. Love from the Folse family.

My Heart goes out to Terri, Bindi and Bob. Steve Irwin was a one of a kind person. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him in person, I always enjoyed watching his shows. Just the way he was able to interact with all animals was one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen. No one else can compare to the way Steve could handle a croc, or any other type of animal.
John Howard has stated that Australia had lost a "wonderful and colorful son", but the world has lost a very dear friend.
Steve now lives on in everyone who has ever been touched by him, by either meeting him or by watching his shows. Steve will truely be missed by everyone.

To the sweetest family I never had the honor of meeting in person,

The first time I saw an add for the Croc Hunter on Animal Planet, I thought it was going to be a show about how to hunt and kill crocs. I refused to let my three young daughters watch it until I was certain that it wasn't anything like what I had imagined. From the moment I first heard Steve and that wonderful Aussie accent, I was hooked. Steve was an integral part of my family, helping to raise and teach my girls the value of preserving what little wilderness our planet has left. In a sense, he became a second father to them, and the loss we feel is insurmountable. We share the grief, like the rest of our world. A brilliant light was suddenly extinguished with his passing, and it was far too early to loose such a HERO.
The very first episode I ever saw was the one where Steve sort of fell into the poisonous tree. I had no idea that a tree could be poisonous, and so I continued to watch. Like so many, I wondered if he was sane, with all the crazy things he put himself through. As I continued to gather my children in front of the TV each and every day, I began to see just how sane he truly was. There has never been a man so passionate, so enthusiastic, so determined to see the efforts of global conservation shoved out of the prehistoric era as our beloved Steve.
He was a remarkable man, one I had grown to believe was invincible because of everything I had seen him survive. He was our SUPERMAN, our guiding torch in the darkest night. If not for him, I wouldn't know half the things I do about the wonderful animals that share our world.
He was a pioneer and a trailblazer. If not for his dedication to what he believed in and his refusal to change those beliefs for whatever might have been popular at the time, we wouldn't have a channel like Animal Planet. It would still be an hour long program on the Discovery Channel.
So it is to all the Irwins, the friends, associates, and the people who came to know and love him as my family did that I post this.
But most especially to Terri.
I know your grief, and I hear
