Steve Irwin. I never him personally, but one did not need to know him on a personal note to see how passionate and enthusiastic he was about life; friends, family and creatures that filled it. He was inspirational. Just watching him made you want to jump up and learn about the deer in the woods, fish in the sea, or even the little grasshoppers that live among the grass (and of course crocodiles!). He sparked something in our soul that turned on a switch that made us want to learn about animals. I know if Steve Irwin hadn't spoken for so many animals, they would not be viewed in the same way, as they are now. Without Steve, crocs would still be considered scary creatures, lizards slimy and snakes plain terrifying. But Steve showed the world that these magnificent creatures have so much more to them than just scales and unpredictable temperaments. He changed the world. He really changed it. He made millions of people want to care for the animals that he had taught them so much about.
I can not even imagine what his family is going through and I give them my deepest condolences. Words can not capture what Steve was. He was so much more than anything anyone can describe. When you think of him, you instantly think of a man who loved life for all it was worth. He was so passionate about what he did. He was amazing. As a closing note, I just wanted to say that Steve truly left the world in a much, much, better place than he found it. You inspired me, mate.
Just a day or two ago I watching a clip of Steve saying how he would be alright with standing aside when his kids could take his place. And I thought, that's so sad, he'll never get to watch his children grow up and fulfill that dream. Then I realized how ridiculously wrong I was. Steve will get to watch his children carry out his legacy, the only difference is....he'll just have a much better view now! Steve, you were great!
