Just a thought, but why don't we all start putting a little something ($$) away. Then next September, Everyone who loves Steve and REALLY got the message, He and Terri and everyone downunder were trying to get out to us. We could all make a donation in Steve's honor, to either the Zoo or Wildlife Warriors, International Crocodile Rescue. Then maybe this would help make every September a little easer for Terri and her kids. When we remind them every year how much we remember and support what his family is trying to continue. And for everyone that "NOW" has an issue with PETA, won't that show them who we really LOVE and who truly made a difference in our LIVES.....

Not a bad idea, and if September isn't good we could also do his B-day too, I believe it was in May or April right?...

Nope, Steve was born February 22, 1962. I think the better idea would be to do something like this on his birthday rather than the day he died...that's too depressing. BUT, we would have to make it for 2008 as Feb is not that far off.

yes biehnie I agree..there is already a group of us that are going to light candles, well the kids have decided we are actually making him a birthday cake with candles, every year on his birthday and what better birthday gift could we give him, but to donate to his causes in his name each year on his birthday.

I like the Bday idea - Feb 07 is still 4 months away - we could all do something by then, couldn't we? Wouldn't have to be that much per person to make a difference, considering the legions of fans...

I think I'm liking this idea more and more...

And you're right it doesn't have to be much, just remembering him in your own special way,
The birthday cake idea is a good one, I love it, I know that once my mom actually managed to find a gator shaped cake pan lol too bad she got rid of it...

Yeah, I think we should give some $$$ on hid bday and his death day. I mean if each person donated $5 that would be a lot of money!!! Also I think that us Americans should name something after him. Another idea is to change the name of "Australia Zoo" to "The Steve Irwin National Zoo" just in his rememberence.

I plan on giving throughout the year, but I think a special donation around Steve’ birthday would be nice. Additionally, I am asking for donations in my name to be made to wildlife warriors for my birthday and Christmas presents.

Keep the great ideas flowing,

Richard

Brilliant! You are a genious,Gibbygirl 1. We could get the message out about donations on his bday, deathday whatever, and each person could contribute a little bit. We could make a holiday or something. Like, International Conservation Month in his name! His bday is Feb 22 not 7th. WE could make a sight on the web or an organization. I wonder if somehow we could get in touch with someone in Australia and have them send Terri and the kids a surprise bday cake! That would be awesome. For someone we loved soooo much, we all know he deservsd it! please write back with ideas! Smile

I like the idea of sending donations every year on Steve's b-day. It would be an honor for us all to contribute just a little bit every year for the conservation of wildlife to wildlife warriors or organizations similar. Plz don't donate to the PETA terrorists.

Lol, today I mentioned this idea to my 8 yr old daughter, she said she's gonna save up her piggy bank money that she gets, I thought it was so sweet, I asked her if she realized what it meant to do that, you know, that she wouldn't be able to spend that money, she said "It's ok, they (meaning the animals) need it more than I do..." I wanted to cry lol

I totally agree with ideas like a Conservation Day in Steve's memory, and adding to the WW pool - BUT, I totally disagree with sending Terri and the kids a birthday cake! Guys for God's sake! Send a birthday cake for her dead husband? I would personally freak if I were in the same position...

i agree with the yearly theme, and furthermore i think whatever the day it should involve all of us wearing khaki and making a donation similar to red nose day etc. it would be a very visible reminder of his cause. lets get the whole country onto it!
