If you would be so obliged: I thought it would be really nice to try and get everyone who has posted on this site to list their country or state of origin in 1 place, so that it would be easier to see where everyone is from. Just reply in the subject line. I am currently compiling and will be mailing these names and the accompanying messages to the zoo at a later date. I know that they have been innundated by thousands of tributes since Steve's passing, so I'd like to wait for a little while before sending these over. I hope that's ok with everyone who has signed. Your support has been nothing short of astounding and I'd really like to thank you all for signing here.
Thanks! P

I'm an American citizen from Orlando, FL who is now married to an aussie. We used to live in Brisbane - where my husband surprised me with a trip to the zoo. Had the time of my life - will never forget it. We live now in Cairns, Aust. When I went back to USA - all my family there wanted to see pics of zoo and of Steve - unfortunately he wasnt there that day. But i did take a pic of myself and my husband standing by a cutout of Steve and a Croc, I tried to imitate his expression. Will always remember my time at the zoo. Terri, Bindi & Bob - all my prayers will be with you during this trying time. Someone once told me - One day Jesus was out tending to his garden and discovered a blank spot that needed to be filled. He looked down upon earth to find the perfect flower to put in his garden. This time - that flower was Steve. He will greatly be missed. All my love and prayers - Candy Bailey
I've posted at least twice on here, in hopes his family, would get the message. Look at the response just on this site alone. Amazing. His legacy is what he has taught, or tried to teach each one of us he has touched. If we can all take just a piece of what he was doing, and apply it in our lives, that would honor him, better than any words we can say or write. God Bless his wife and children, family members and friends.
Steve has been a huge success in teaching my children about animals. So much so that my oldest daughter wants to "take his place" whn she grows up. I had been saving money to get from the US to Australia so that one day they could actually meet him, however now that he is gone, I still continue to put every spare penny back to take them and show them that he is still very much alove as a person. It is such a great loss to so many people and we hope that after such a tragedy people will continue to keep him alive. My heart goes out to his family in this difficult time of loss!
