Steve and Terri gave us the wonderful idea of becoming a ZOO family too. We do not own one but we are Members (SINCE 1993) of the Organization of National Zoos. We have been constantly keeping our zoo in Salt Lake City Utah on there toes on how better they should treat there animals. But with no avail.! We will help to continue to keep on them though. I MADE A PROMISE TO STEVE ON THAT ONE. Thank You for taking time out of your lives to help teach the WHOLE WORLD how to make the Earth a better place.

there is a poem carved in stone titled loss, but the author had scrached out its meaning so no one could read its contents. No one can read loss or see its depth only feel it and Steve there are no words for me to express the loss of you in this world to me or others you left behind to carry on with your lifes work.
I hope that the flame that Steve carried will be kept going by the millions he inspired.

It's been 1 week and I'm still in disbelief and my heart is broken. He was a person that everyone could look up to. Most of all, he was an honest person. Without true honesty, he would have been just another celebrity, but he rose above it all and became an icon to the world... an icon of honesty, passion, caring and understanding. He wasn't perfect, but he gave it his all and you couldn't ask for more than that. I truly loved him for what he stood for and that he never waivered from those beliefs. What a remarkable man....

I just wanted to say that I loved watching Steve's Crocodile Files all the time and anything else he did on Animal Planet. It was more than a learning event, but a true wildlife adventure right there in the room! I loved his child-like amazement and excitement he had for whatever animal it was and he taught respect them, but don't be afraid of them. Each animal has its place in our world too and that is how conservation will be met--by sharing out world with the animals not fearing them and killing them all off to extinction or nothingness but pictures in books one day.

Steve was a bright light, and I know the brightest star in the night sky is Steve telling his family he is okay on the other side and letting them know he will always love them and watch over them. Sometimes it seems we lose some of our best far too young, but yet, we always lose a special one when a loved one dies. Steve certainly was loved by many but I think it was because of his ways and teachings and passion........Godspeed Steve.....

Like you, I also come here everyday to read new posts to find some sort of healing, I hope. It's still just so unreal... he was so full of life that it's hard to imagine he's gone.

I, still can´t belive it... I´m Efraín Carrejo Uslé 34 yo from Cd. Jiménez, Chih., México...
Me and my kids were watching steve´s movie today and we were letting out some tears. in the past week I´v let go some other tears. the day he died i figuerd out: My daughter Miranda (10yo) wants to be a zoologist or something related to animal care since she was 4 or 5 yo; my son Efraín (5yo) loves crocodiles, snakes, sharks, spiders.... since he was like 2yo. That is because Rosario (my wife), me and the kids spent hours a day watching Steve dealing with dangerous animals as if he were playing with toys... So, Steve, You are a real heroe, you will be remembered by my familý for the rest of our lives. To his wife and kids: Don´t be sad, you had a gift from God: being close to and being loved by one of a kind human being. ¿God, what do I have to do to pass away the way he did?... teaching us, inspiring us... We love you............ (please, to the people reading this, if you like, send me comments, for Steve´s sakes)
