Hey, friends! Don't you think that the days of Steve's loved ones might be made a tiny bit brighter if they were to see the honors and observances, not of his celebrity, but of Steve's work and of his very real contribution to the benefit of the animals of the world? I've heard of a few, but they might not have been "big" enough to garner notice that would make its way to Beerwah. But maybe we could tell Terri and family about them here.
For example, today in our local (rural) paper, I read that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission unanimously passed a resolution acknowledging Steve as a "giant among giants" in wildlife conservation. "The future of fish and wildlife around the world depends on support from well-informed people, and Steve Irwin served that cause with passion, dedication, and talent."
I know there must be more honors like this being accorded to Steve all over the globe if we just look out for them. What do you all think?
I am making it a point to make contributions to zoos and conservation organizations in my locality in the Name of Steve Irwin.
I am also inspired to compose a Concertino in his momory. This is so painful and I am greatful that there is a forum for me to express my feelings over and over again.
