Steve touched our lives in a way we'll never forget and this poem reminds me of him.
Called Away
He did not choose to leave us, he was simply called away. Angels carried him to heaven at the birth of a new day. His departure left an empty space that nothing seems to fill. I guess no matter how we try, nothing ever will.

The sunlight emulates his smile, his laughter's in the wind. The fun he had and the joy he shared will never have an end. His love for his family and animals made him stand 10 feet tall. His zest for life was awesome and can't help but say it all.
He'll always be remembered, he's never far away. We'll see his face and feel his love in our minds and hearts each day.
The days and months will pass quickly as they always seem to do. The memories we treasure, from all that we've watched him do. I'm sure had there been time to spare, there were things that Steve would say. But he did not choose to leave us. He was simply called away.

blessings, love and light,
Pam Engel

What a wonderful and appropriate sentiment, both touching and fitting a description of his life and death.
