I had this playing Sunday night as my children and I lit four candles.(my husband just doesnt understand my pain.) As i lit them I said, This candle is for Steve Irwin. He was a wonderfully incredible man who will be missed terribly by us. This candle is for his family in thier time of deepest sorrow, this candle is for the animals-they have lost thier warrior, this last one is for the world, for we will miss him dearly.
The song below is done wonderfully by Chris Rice. He also does another song 'Breakfast Table' that i heard that Monday we heard of his death. I immediately thought of Terri, cried and still do when I hear it. If I can find that one I'll post it too.
copy and paste into browser to hear it, words are below.
There is a candle in every soul Some brightly burning, some dark and cold There is a Spirit who brings a fire Ignites a candle and makes His home
Carry your candle, run to the darkness Seek out the helpless, confused and torn And hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle, and go light your world Take your candle, and go light your world
Frustrated brother, see how he's tried to Light his own candle some other way See now your sister, she's been robbed and lied to Still holds a candle without a flame
So Carry your candle, run to the darkness Seek out the lonely, the tired and worn And hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle, and go light your world Take your candle, and go light your world
We are a family whose hearts are blazing So let's raise our candles and light up the sky Praying to our Father, in the name of Jesus Make us a beacon in darkest times
Carry your candle, run to the darkness Seek out the hopeless, deceived and poor Hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle, and go light your world Take your candle, and go light your world
Carry your candle, run to the darkness Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn Hold out your candle for all to see it Take your candle, and go light your world Take your candle, and go light your world Take your candle, and go light your world
this song is on myspace.com you dont need to sign up or anything to hear it. on the far right there is a list of his songs. click a couple times on breakfast table, and click the play arrow to play it.... enjoy. Its an amazing song. have the tissues ready.....God, I cry even just reading the words...its abosultely beautiful in words and music...

Breakfast Table
Was it a million miles to heaven Too far to hear my lonely song Or is it just my imagination I hear you humming along I only hold you in my dreams now I wake up with cold and empty arms Lord help me get through this long night without you And soon as the morning comes Soon as the morning comes
Save me a seat at the breakfast table Save me a dance around the Milky Way And save me a thousand years to whisper in your ears All I’ve wanted to say Save me a smile and an angel’s feather Save me a walk down the streets of gold And baby, we’ll change our minds just like old times And maybe we’ll just fly away Or maybe we’ll stay
My lucky doll, you’re in heaven before me You were my taste of heaven here Remember we loved to talk about it, we couldn’t wait to get there So you go on and find your way around now But remember I’m here missing you Do me a favor and say hey to Jesus And tell him I’m missing him too Tell him I’m missing him too
Then save me a seat at the breakfast table Save me a dance around the Milky Way And save me a thousand years to whisper in your ears All I’ve wanted to say Save me a smile and an angel’s feather Save me a walk down the streets of gold And baby, we’ll change our minds just like old times And maybe we’ll just fly away Or maybe we’ll stay

Packing up the dreams God planted, In the fertile soil of you. Can't believe the hopes He's granted Means a chapter in your life is through. But we'll keep you close as always, It won't even seem you've gone. 'Cause our hearts in big and small ways, Will keep the love that keeps us strong.
Chorus And friends are friends forever If the Lord's the Lord of them. And a friend will not say never, 'Cause the welcome will not end. Though it's hard to let you go, In the Father's hands we know That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends. With the faith and love God's given Springing from the faith we know, We will pray the joy you live in Is the strength that now you show.
But we'll keep you close as always, It won't even seem you've gone. 'Cause our hearts in big and small ways, Will keep the love that keeps us strong.

When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of a storm is a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain, Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone, You'll never walk alone.
that was sweet...thanks for sharing... I started this one last sunday after the Bondfire thing...listening to "take your candle, Go Light Your World" which was perfectly fitting. he was our candle, our fire, and his spirit will live in me forever.

This is about Steve and his family. We all miss him and are having a hard time with it. It's nice you are trying to help, but take your own advice....this is not about getting the most hits. Sometimes people need to do things on their own. Don't take it personally.
no need to be critical about it. Im certainly not taking it personally. This isnt a game of who gets the most hits. I found some beautiful songs starting last sunday I wanted to share. If others want to open new posts about the same thing, who cares? This is my own little spot I can collect them, and maybe someday Terri and the Zoo family will see mine, read them and hear them. Im not about hits like some people here. Im about Steve Terri and the zoo, as it ought to be.
