I know the brilliant minds of mythbusters can answer this question:
What would happen to the human body if it were exposed to a space vacuum?
Some physicists say that a person would explode. Others say you're blood would boil. Others say that you could survive for up to 30 seconds provided you don't hold you're breath. It's all speculative. I know we can't launch a shuttle into space so we can throw a politician out the window. I was thinking perhaps dead mice or maybe a dead pig, or even a live one. Does a politician count as a live pig? I'm not a scientist, so I don'e have the resources to conduct that kind of experiment, but it's a question I've been dying to prove. scientifically.

No, it isn't. The Air Force and NASA have done extensive research on this, in particular during the Apollo program. The finding that you can survive without injury for 30 seconds or so comes out of that research. It shouldn't be too difficult to track down the original research at any library.

Apparently the original animal research report is no longer available, but this is the summary on NASA now-it's pretty definitive. Humans in Vacuum
