What kind of different things around the house have so many people tried to use to get gum out of their hair? Some people say they work and some don't. What things can you come up with?

*peanut butter
*mayonaise

When I was little I went to bed with gum in my mouth ( was quite young so cut me some slack). I woke up with gum in my hair and my mom used baby oil to get it out. I believe she also used a fine tooth comb to help pull it out.

I have also heard you can put ice on it to harden it and pull it out easier.

I've heard the ice one too... but I've never had gum stuck in my hair to actually try it.

If you get a piece of gum stuck on the clothes it works fine to put the clothes in the freezer and then remove it.
With a kid I think it's better to use ice than put it in the freezer though ;-)

I have also heard that using olive oil works.

Yes, olive oil would work. so would any other type of oil. It's the oil in peanut butter or mayonaise that lets those products help get gum out. As I said, my mom used baby oil when I was a kid and was dumb enough to go to bed with gum in my mouth.

One time, a friend of mine got gum in her hair. We tried that,b ut it didn't work. We did get it out. Unfortunately I cannot remember how. Sorry that doesn't help much.
