Hello,
I just recently saw an old episode where you tested whether or not a black car would heat up faster than a white car. You considered it confirmed. Well I think you guys missed one important factor.. interior color!
I work in an office where we have company vehicles. All most all of our vehicles are white and though they are assigned to one person, we often swap cars or ride with co-workers. My vehicle is a 2005 taurus, white with charcoal interior but we also have 2005 taurus' with tan and light gray interior. We have noticed that my vehicle gets hotter than anyone else's vehicle. My personal vehicle is a midnight blue honda with light tan interior, the white car is ALWAYS hotter than my personal car. I have also been in black vehicles with tan interiors and felt like they didnt get as hot as my white car.
Sooo.. Im suggesting that you re-visit this myth but use two of each... two black, one with tan and one with dark interior and two white- one with tan and one with dark interior. I think if you do, you will find that the interior is just as important as the exterior color!
