In school I remember learning that when you flush a toilet the water flows counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemesphere and clockwise in the Southern. So my questions are: What happens when you are on the equator? Can you reverse the flow?

Every flush toilet* I've ever used was built to shoot the water into the bowl at an angle to produce the spin -- coriolis force has nothing to do with it.
----- *Some of the camps I've been at used a different system, known as gravity. I was never interested in sticking my head through the seat to see if the waste fell clockwise or counterclockwise ....

The direction the water spins when the toilet is flushed is due to the construction of the toilet, not by the toilet's location in the world.
