I saw this online and it reminded me of the plane sliced like toast by the other plane engine.
Even on the website no one seems to be able to agree if this is really possible or not.

As an aeronautical engineer I wouldn't advise it, but as long as the spars and ribs are in one piece it should be ok for a short while.

He might want to cover it in paint so the air can't get under the tape and rip it off in flight.

The weakest point on the 'repaired' plane is the horizontal tale, the tape may not be able to bear the loads.
