How About a show full containing the Darwin awards’ honorable mentions.
Like if you eat only cabbage and beans, and have poor ventilation you die from your own methane production.

the darwin awards have an extensive listing of deaths that could not be verified it would be amazing if mythbusters picked that up and tried to prove some of these

Welcome to the MB Boards.

Thanks for using find to post on an existing thread! You'd be surprised at how many don't.

The best way to get a myth on the show is to post some details, especially if you have any cool ideas on how to make a myth look good on TV. Make it easy on the researchers, and they'll be happy to take advantage of your homework.

So, do we have any links to snopes.com or maybe a newspaper story? Feel free to post them.

I kinda doubt the methane story, but you never know--they did poo-polishing, so anything's possible, and at least the methane story is a genuine myth.

Good luck!

I know they did an explosive flatus segment. I think they might have also done a death-by-flatus segment.

That would be a really weird show. Lock someone in a confined space and give them nothing but cabbage and beans and then just watch. Monitor the gas levels in the room and pull them out when/if it got dangerous. It seems like if the ventilation was really so poor that methane couldn't escape they'd die from consuming all the oxygen in the room before they could produce enough methane to kill themselves.

This legend questions wheather the methane from a dairy cow could result in it exploding if the release of the gas ingnited and fallowed the path into the cow

I would like to see the mythbusters collect the bovine flatchulence and see if its ignition would result in an explosion that has enough force to kill somone with a flying femur

This myth is based of of someone in japan drinking 16 beers that have been carbonated with hydrogen instead of co2 and then accidently swallowing a cigerette that ignited the gas ruptured his stomach and caused 3rd degree burns and muteness http://www.darwinawards.com/le.../legends1999-11.html
