That would be something for the build team. They have to make weapons and gadgets like that.

P.S If you have any gadget ideas or myths about video games please post.

Adam and Jamie would also be happy making gadgets too thatguy6. I have seen them have build offs on the show.

If they could figure out a great way to test it I would like to see a definitive test about if video games increase violent behavior in people.
Of course they'd have to see if they increase violent behavior in aggressive people vs passive people and in between.
I've heard that it doesn't matter about the violent content but the stress factor of the difficulty can insight violent behavior.
Whatever the case if it is approached right I think it could be a very helpful episode of Mythbusters because I have never seen an unbiased study of video games that measures the amount of violent behavior they may cause

I have to agree with that statement Poetic, the stress/frustration is what did it to me. I got so mad at a silly game once (ninja gaiden for the NES), that I jumped up in a rage and kicked a hole in my parents wall! The game was not violent compared to the games of today so it was not that aspect of it that made me react the way I did, just frustration of the game not doing what I wanted it to.

I have since grown past that immaturity and just throw the controller down now... Wink

I've left all manner of consoles on for days and days with no ill effects. It could burn an image into your TV though. Ever seen an old acrade game with "Game over" permanently etched into the screen?

Another myth I heard concerning video games is that older game controllers could withstand more force than the newer ones. Example being that if you slammed down an old Nintendo or Atari controller it wouldn't break as easily as a PS2 or equal generation controller.
It's even been said newer systems could withstand more of a beating than the older systems. Being that Cd based systems have more moving parts to break I could actually believe this one without testing.

this is less of a myth but more of a test. The test is to see which video game system is the strongest. this means if you smash a ps3 with sledge hammer than it works. then you hit a wii with a sledgehammer and it breaks.

Here are the tests I think they should test
1.is hit it with a sledge hammer.
2.drop the system from 10ft.
3. I dont know. You guys can post for what you think should be 3rd.

See ya later Roll Eyes

Here is a myth.

It is harder to remember somethings while playing video games. Example; playing a game and your parents say "take out the trash" and you say "after this game" and then you forget about the trash.

I have done that plenty of times before. But I don't know if it was casued by the game, my laziness, or my short term memory loss Razz

The controllers for the older systems have fewer moving parts than the newer ones too. The newer ones have the extra buttons, e.g. the old NES pad just had the A and B buttons, select/start, and the directional pad, that was it. It didn't even have shoulder buttons. The newer ones also have the vibration features/analog sticks. I think the shape of the ones from yesteryear made them somewhat more durable too, the modern ones are meant to be semi-ergonomic, whereas the old NES controller (for example) was basically just a brick.

Older systems like the atari 2600 and the NES were mainly just plain old buttons with no microprocessors. basically each button completing a circuit.
the new controllers work off of serial communication with analog sensing, so that means a bunch of A/D converters, a serial chip, and a small micro processor. a lot more stuff to go wrong

It's not hard to remember a chore, It's that you're addicted to your game.
I have had this problem for a long time.
