I wasn't sure where to put this, but...

If you consume something spicy or acidic, like ketchup, oriental chicken, hot sauce, BBQ chicken wings, etc, and then spit on an ice cube, will it melt it faster than normal spit?

I know it's kind of wierd, but, yeah...

You're right - this is rather weird.

I'm as close to positive as I can be without actually doing research that the type of heat produced by spicy foods is not actually thermal heat in the sense that a thermometer would read it, but rather the sensation of heat due to chemicals in the food. Therefore it seems to me that an ice cube should not melt any faster after eating a food like this unless there is some other factor.

The idea has a sort of appeal to it though, and it sounds rather fun and interesting. I for one would love to see Jamie wolfing down a few jalapenos.

idk, it just seemed like something...interesting...I guess.... It sounded good in my mind, but you know how things like that go. They sound good in the mind, but when it comes out on to paper/computer/etc, it just kind of dies.lol
