Driving through a carwash will get the car and driver wet because on a hardtop, the roof gets washed, too, so what do you think?

yes, but how much damage will the car or driver sustain? i mean, if it makes my wipers lift and sunroof rattle, what would happen to my body?

I used to work at a car wash. A fully automatic car wash with foam brushes, wheel brushes, powerful pressure washers that follow the shape of the car, and huge blowers pushing about 200mph winds or faster(not sure how fast, but they're fast).

We had a customer complain that it scratched their car and just to prove that it was impossible for our equipment to do that, I walked through the entire car wash tunnel with all the extras turned on.

Keep in mind that I had ABSOLUTELY NO PROTECTION aside from my clothing and my hands over my eyes to prevent soap from getting in.

I was first sprayed with a pre-wash(shielding my eyes of course); then the first roller brush went from the front of me, onto my head, then down my back; next came the power washers with roughly 1,500psi per nozzle; then came the wheel washers at my feet; followed by the side washing brushes that start on my front and wrap around me to the sides and back; then we had the foam polish; right after was the polishing side brushes; and then we finish with a nice fresh water rinse and a drying additive; lastly was the super fast blowers(loud but painless).

So, after all of that, I would have to say that on that hot summer day, I actually enjoyed that trip through so much, when we weren't busy, and it was hot, I did it again and again. All the while I got wet and the blowers were loud but ABSOLUTELY NO HARM DONE!!! I didn't even have a vehicle to protect me.

I'm positive that anyone who did the same with a convertible or similar (like an open-sided jeep) would have no injuries what-so-ever.

Myth---(Confirmed, Plausible, or Busted?)

I agree. Pressure washers can do some serious damage. I know in my area there are car washes that don't have brushes- just pressure washers.
I say we send buster through the two types of car washes and see what happens!

And why the heck did you (supposedly) walk through a car wash? What point did that prove? Roll Eyes

the mythbusters went through a car wash on top of a car, and were uninjured.
