Based off the saying "It's like the blind leading the blind" is it possible for a blind person to lead another blind person?

Many blind people are fully capable of getting around on their own. I see no reason that a blind person capable of getting around on their own could'nt lead another blind person. Ironicaly, actual blind people leading blind people is far more functional than the people this saying is generaly aimed at.
