could wearing a hat for a LONG LONG time (like years or something) cause a lack of nutrients from the sun to your head a hair and cause you to go bald?

Nope, it is far more likeley that people who are already bald will wear a hat.

u can rub hair off. babies do it when they learn to move their head. so if ur hat lays on a spot where hair is and moves back and forth it can potentially friction off the hair.
i dont think it would be permanent unless it caused a scar to form on your skin.
but im not a DR. ive worn hats/hardhats for the last 20+ years and im not bald. im 20 yrs older so i have less hair than an 18yr old but thats life.

How are two San Francisco special effects artists going to test this?

"They*" say that caps dont cause baldness, as baldness is a genetic condition. However, when a man wears work boots w/socks for several consistent years, the leg hairs DO wear down to a nearly smooth ankle... If socks can do it, I would 'assume' that a snug hat being worn daily for many, many years could cause (non-permanent??) baldness. *But, whoever "they" are... they say a lot of things, don't they?

Anecdotal, but I wear hats a lot, and I hope to go bald (All the SMART men in my family are bald). No luck. Super thick hair that frequently needs cut. I don't want to think about what this says about my intelligencem
