I learned in Organic Chemistry that it is relatively simple to make home-made bioiesal that actually runs an automobile and is fairly environmental friendly. If you guys could prove this on the show it would be awesome.

They already did this. They got used cooking oil, filtered it, and ran a diesel car off of it, no other refining, just a mesh screen. The car ran fine and got about 5-10% less mileage than regular diesel. FYI, there is another show on discovery called Dirty Jobs and he did an episode about a guy who makes his own biodiesel in his garage, from used cooking oil.

Bambutu: what they used on the show wasn't biodiesel. It was WVO (waste vegetable oil). Biodiesel is a vegetable oil derived ester, much better in the long run than straight oil.
