Do the deer whistlers that you mount on cars front bumpers really work?

I used to wonder that myself because my aunt swears by them. One day I let her borrow my car and when I got it back my car had a brand new pair of "deer whistles" on it. The next month I was driving and two deer jumped out in front of me and I barely missed them. The next day I pulled those ugly, useless pieces of plastic off my bumper. In summary, NO, they do not work at all!

They may make a noise that is audible to deer...

There is no guaruntee that the deer will be frightened of the noise, or pay any attention to it at all.

My father hit a deer with those stupid things attached to his car, so obviously they don't work 100% of the time.

It's a gimmick in my opinion - I would love to see these tested. I'm interested how deer respond to the sound, or if they respond at all!

I would also like to see this tested so that everyone out their will stop wasting their money on this silly product. You know what would be hilarious? If they actually attract deer!
