There are several "stories" of the dreaded wet towel snap tearing open skin, removing chunks of flesh, doubling over men who get hit in the testicles, blinding eyes, etc

no doubt this could blind in a direct eye hit and cause welts etc. But remove flesh?

May be a good mythbuster episode.

It's probably a safe assumption that most of the cast would volunteer to snap at least another member of the cast ... for scientific study.
