There's a lot of frog-catching myths out there. My favorite comes from an article, by Laraine Howard in the 1998 old farmer's almanac. Apparently, you can hypnotize a frog by making a certain waving motion in-front of it, allowing you to grab it.

The article mentions another method. A frog will grab a piece of red flannel and not let go.

There's not much on the internet, but I found a commentary on it, which has an anecdote not in the original article.

When I first heard it, I took it as fact, but almanacs are long-standing hotbeds of folklore.

Have they done chicken hypnosis yet? If they do frog hypnosis, please don't eat the frogs.

One of my students told me that he heard that you can hypnotize a frog by rubbing its stomach. I checked the internet and came up with this website

Could it actually work?
