Couple of things here. First, this is something you CAN do at home. When they say "Don't try this at home," they're not talking about this. Second, you are refering to the Tootsie Roll Pop commercial from the '70s, because the Tootsie Roll Pop is the only one with anything in the center, and would technically be product endorsement. Third, this is not a myth. Just a jingle from the '70s that people seem to be too busy to test it. And I think it is 800 to 1000 licks (yes, people have, in fact, tested it).
