Is jogging on pavement better for your knees than jogging on concrete sidewalks? I don't believe it, but joggers here insist that it is better for their knees, and jog in the road! It's wearing me out!

I say it makes no difference.

I've heard from several different people that jogging or running in the street is better for your knees. But, despite the fact that I'm a runner myself, I can't tell if running on the street or the sidewalk is more beneficial than the other. Also, it drives me crazy to see people running in the streets. There are sidewalks for a reason.

I don't believe for a moment it is better for your knees to jog on blacktop. One just doesn't weigh enough and the shoes will dampen any impact in any case. But running on the sidewalks is definitely better for your longevity. Not many cases where a pedestrian is run over while on the sidewalk compared to being hit while in the street.

It would be interesting to see this tested on the show.
