I got this wacky idea one night, if you were buried alive during world war one or two under somme mud or dirt you hade not many chances to survive, but there could be one. what if you Breathed through your rifles barrel with out the bullet in??? use the longest rifle back in those times try the Russian 14.5 mm antitank rifle PTRD-1941 its 48.3 inches long

Um... if you're buried tightly enough that you can't get yourself out, how would you manouver around to disassemble the rifle and manage to shove it up through the ground to breathe through?

all you have to do is uncock the rifle like if you reloading, but instead of putting in the clip or ammo use it to breath

"All you have to do..." LMAO

You are talking about this gun, right? http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~patamaru/ptrd1941-02b.jpg

As I asked, if you're buried under dirt/mud and can't dig yourself out, how are you going to manouver the gun around and poke that big muzzle brake out into the air?

And, if you can't manouver around enough to dig yourself out, how are you going to get your mouth on the open breech? http://www.antitank.co.uk/images/ptrd-rear2.jpg
