Crystal Skulls. There has been a lot of myth, legend, controversy, and assumption as to the makers of these skulls. Some feel these skulls were made by Aliens, the Aztecs, Mayans or people of Atlantis. Some of these crystal skulls have been scientifically tested as to how they were made. The Texas instruments lab after testing a skull as to its origin and to how it was made; claims it is not man made and impossible to duplicate. Not even with laser technology could these skulls be duplicated. No scratches at all found on these skulls even on the microscopic level. There is a new focus on these skulls because of a recent movie, adding more mystic attraction to them. I think that the method of polishing these skulls is much simpler. Whether or not these skulls were made in ancient times by the Aztecs or Mayans, or if 1950 technology was used to perpetuate a fraud as to their existence. I think that water pressure is the tool used to carve and polish these skulls. This would explain why as no scratches are found on them on the microscopic level and also how they were not broken during sculpture. I ask you to put the myth to the test.

The Scfi channel has a special on the Crystal Skulls, and it showed this evening from 6 PM to 8 PM , then from 8 PM to 10 PM MST, so it is almost half over as I write this. I am watching Cabaret as I recorded the special on the skulls earlier, and will watch it later. My question is: What about the skulls do you propose the MB team test?

Unfortunately, I don't trust the Sci-Fi channel to to a real, objective look into anything. They always skew their results to think there is something to them when there is not. Just see all their UFO programs that they made.

A typical effort on the part of SciFi. There were a couple of dissenting voices, but they were only allowed a minute or two total out of the whole show.
These artificts have been well documented and the means of production are well-understood. Here's another skeptical article:

I propose that the MB team try and make a skull out of crystal that has the same smoothness microscopically, and not breaking the crystal during sculpture. Try using pressurized water as the polishing tool.

Isn't the idea to see if it could have been faked in the late 19th century? I have some doubts to there being water jets capable of crafting crystal back then.

I have some doubts about the claim of extreme smoothness in the first place, a statement which has never been made as the result of any actual investigation, but which is peddled in the case of one skull, secondhand, by an extremely questionable source - the owner, who refuses to let anyone actually examine it and who is still making money giving lectures featuring his unsupported claims.

Given that every single example found has been clearly demonstrated to be a 19th century product, and that the single example in question appeared - surprise! - in the 19th century at the very peak of the craze for such artifacts, I'm content with the notion that all of them were simply a way to make a quick buck off tourists and less-than-bright collectors.

The technique of grinding lenses has been known since the 1500s or so. There would be no difference in technique; you start rough and finish fine.... All that's required is patience.

When stated on an obviously slanted bio on the crystal skull, it was said no human could sand the anchient object so smooth with such primitve tools.

What about suspending a rough cut skull in a running stream of water?

Running water can be very abrasive.
