I have been watching the show for three episodes already and just have a few things I wish would change…
Tonights episode with the camera all jumping around was just a little too much for me although the recipes were good.
First – lets all agree that SAM is cool – then maybe he can stop acting like he just at a plate full of “special” brownies with all the hand gestering and such.
You don't have to try so hard -- We get it already – it’s a cooking show – you’re not a chef – and you think you’re funny.
Second – Spend a few more minutes on showing us the recipes and a little less time trying to show us that you have a disheveled kitchen. Times, temps, etc are good stuff to know. No matter what -- THIS IS A COOKING SHOW and you ARE competing with REAL chefs for my time - so use it wisely.
Third – On the website – whatever you have as the “serving” size cut in half… I made the Chimichito and had to double the recipe to get four servings…Your four servings would have done 2 normal size folks.
Fourth – by the camerman a tripod. These zoom in- zoom out – and wobbling went out with NYPD Blues and COPS.
Besides that – the show is good – hopefully its not just a five episode hit wonder – but SAM needs to slow down – discuss the recipes and cooking procedures (time, temp, etc) a little bit more and stop acting like he is wired on 20 red-bulls. We get it – Sam is cool – the cameraman is cool – the dogs are cool – now just stop wobbling the camera like it’s a bad chase on COPS and just COOK!!!

I have to say, I like his quirky mannerisms and gestures. He comes across as extremely funny and likable, and although his jokes aren't exactly stand-up material, they still make me chuckle. As for the less refined aspects of the show - I think they give the show a more "real" feel. If I wanted a glossier, more refined show, I'd stick with The Food Network.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but wouldn't it be easier to just change over to a show that you do like, instead of bashing a show that you don't? The rest of us like the show...get over it already. Being different is the spice of life and it's kind of the point of the show for him to be quirky. Embrace the quirkiness or just flip the channel...it's easy!!!
