So most of us agree that Sam's show is great. What about his recipes? Has anyone tried them? I haven't tried any yet. I usually get recipes from foodnetwork.com where they include ratings and reviews from people who have tried the recipes. I usually try the recipes with high ratings and positive reviews. I am sure most of Sam's recipes are good but I wish there was a way to rate the recipes and write reviews.
Anyways, if you have tried his recipes, which ones are your favorite? How many stars would you give the recipes (5 stars being the best)? Is there anything you recommend to change?
Thanks in advance!

I went with the Mexican bruschetta and shrimp tacos for my last get together. They only seemed to take a few minutes to make and were extremely well-loved by all! Both of those I'd give an overall rating of 5 with the following breakdown:
Taste: 5 - oh so good! Ease: 5 - we made these during a party! Speed: 5 - ok maybe it was the company and the fun, but it seemed really fast and easy! Mess: 4 - these are finger foods whether you meant for them to be or not! =)
One of our guests has gone and made about a dozen variations on the bruschetta trying to find exactly what tasty combinations she adores most. It is really encouraging that his recipes are so flexible that even though they're yummy, you can play around to make your ideal version!

Blocks: I have made a couple of Sam's recipes and I love them. I made the "Chicken chimichitos" and I have made the "Beef and black bean chow mein". Both were excellent. I want to make the "chicken egg rolls" but have been having problems finding some of the ingredients. Same with the chow mein as far as the noodles but I just improvised. I think I just need to head to the local asian market here in town and I will probably be able to find them just fine. I am a beginner when it comes to the kitchen and found that both of these recipes were super easy to do and incredibly delicious! I will definitely be trying a lot more of his recipes. Just try them! They are easy and great!

I made the Chimichitos and my family loved them! I love the show; the recipes I have tried so far are quick and delicious. I didn't think my three and five year old would eat anything like this, but they have loved everything so far. Thanks Sam.

I have made many of his recipes. They have all been great and very easy. Some of my Favorites are Five Spice chicken, Thai curry chicken. Spicey Fat boy pasta, Chicken Spring rolls, Tortilla Soup, Warm Cabbage salad. My kids have loved them all too. I can't wait for some new episodes.

I keep seeing people talk about the Fat boy sausage and I have seen these and a couple of other recipes on the website from a "special" but I have not seen this broadcast yet. I have his show set to record on my DVR as I work nights and this show is on at 3:30 in the afternoon when I am still in bed. I have seen all of the other shows listed just not this one...anyone else notice this? I'm in WI...maybe my location has something to do with it.

We've made the chimichitos, tortilla soup, and egg rolls so far (have only caught a few episodes so far).
We tried to use brown rice tortillas instead of flour. They aren't good for wrapping, as they break open easily in the corners, but they crisp up somehting fierce, which is something I'll keep in mind for another recipe.
The tortilla soup is SICKLY AMAZING! I normally despise soups, but absolutely fell in love with this easy recipe, and will make it again and again and again.

I've tried the Ravioli w/ Lemon & Mint (excellent and very easy. A light, tasty favorite) and the Pasta Puttanesca (this was very good, but *very* full flavored - almost too much so. I think the next time I make it - and I will - I will use a little fewer olives & capers.)

I've tried a few of Sam's recipes.
My favorites are:
BBQ chicken sandwich with onion rings and cole slaw
Sausage Pasta (any ideas on good veggies to add in with the sausage?)
Peg's Pear/Gorgonzola on french bread.
The only thing of his which I didn't care for too much were his sweet and sticky ribs. They were way to sweet for me. I used the same methodology and used regular bbq sauce, and they tasted fine.

I just had the three pepper halibut, it was good, however Halibut is very expensive here and honestly I found it a little so so. I loved the peppers and the sauce. any suggestions on another fish that might be good in this?

I discovered the show just last week. It's perfect for me since I am new to cooking. Well, decent cooking anyway. We made and really enjoyed the ginger scallops tonight. Couldn't have been easier and dang tasty. I hope the show has a future under the new corporate ownership.
